My good friend Millerman wanted to do some fishing today. Tim and I spent the past 2 summers fishing together almost every weekend but with work and conflicting schedules we have not been so fortunate this year. When we made plans earlier this week (last night) we decided on hitting Pool 4 for a couple of hours today, I have not been on Pool 4 since Memorial Weekend and didn’t have a clue to what was/is going on down there for a bite so I started the morning off scouring the net looking for reports. I didn’t really find any reports that matched as some reports claim the bite is great while others reports claimed a tough bite. I also heard from a River Rat guide that nothing was going on the river and everything was on the lake.

Without any solid info other than a claim of trolling up eater eye’s on the lake Tim and I decided we were gonna hit it. We put in at Colvill Park and were gonna head to the lake but we got side tracked as there are just too many good spots on the river to pass up without fishing. SO with a very short boat ride from Colvill we were set up to troll. The first trolling run on the river didn’t produce so it was off to river spot #2 to troll cranks which again didn’t produce, both spots were holding fish according to the graph but we didn’t work ’em as we had a spot that we were on our way to anyways.

Spot #3 on the river was going to be the last stop before we headed out to the lake. We decided to do something a little different and not troll. We loaded up some bottom bouncers and 3-way rigs with crawler rigs and spinner rigs which were the ticket for the day and we never made it to the lake.

The action was not fast and furious for us today but I didn’t expect much after not fishing Pool 4 since the end of May. Fish came from depths between 14-16′.

Tim’s best fish for the day was a 28.5″ which could have been 29″ but she didn’t sit still as she hit the tape measure for just a second, an extremely quick photo and she was back in the water and swimming to fight again another day. My best for the day was a 21.5″ which was set free to grow and become a 28″ hawg. Timmy as always it was great to get to spend a couple hours in the boat with you and hopefully we get to do it again soon

Nice fish! It was tough for me out there today but did managed 2 14″ crappies while trolling but no eyes

Good report Jesse. Photo shop work necessary to make sure the report doesn’t help anyone catch fish, but does make a good boasting report!

It was a great time and glad we got out! It makes it all worth while with just a couple quality fish and always those dang sheep heads to keep a person occupied waiting for the good ones! Hopefully we won’t have such a dry spell until we get out again!

That’s what all the fishermen say when they catch a 7+ inch larger fish than their partner.

    Jesse,

don’t edit your photo’s that way. You lose credibility.

No staffer or reporter should be editing photos.

Just position your boat differently. Dustin Stewart doesn’t edit his photos of walleyes on the river, in the back channel, right in front of Goose Lake, along the subtle point, just south of the sand bar, on the east bank, 2 log jams down, so why do you do it?

Good job on the walleyes. I don’t know why more people don’t pull spinners for eyes, the “little joe” is as popular as a rapala and is responsible for more fish!

Gary, if he wanted credibility he wouldn’t be taking pics of Millerman, now would he?

Great job Jesse, way to change up presentations and get something positive going.!! I’m licking my chops hoping the flow drops so I can start effectively start fishing “wingies”
