Does anyone have any experience on a prop that would give me a better top end speed? Right know I have a 4 blade Renegade 21 pitch, I get on plane really good but don’t get the top end I am looking for. Any info would be great.

    Thanks,

    Bryce,

Have you gone on the Mercury Prop Selector web site ?

    http://www.mercurymarine.com/propellers/prop-selector/#

My 619 has the 225 pro xs and I have a 4 blade 21 pitch revolution .. I get about 57mph top end… I get a great hole shot and I’m sure I could do better on my top end… but I get about 5300 rpms at full throttle and that’s fine by me..

good luck in your prop search !!

What are your RPMS and top speed with your current set-up? What year is your rig? What motor are you running?

2003 Evinrude Ficht My RPM are 5800-5900 wide open and I get 55-56 I was wondering if a 3 blade 23 pitch would do anything for me?

While I’m not an expert, I’d say if you’re getting 55-56 mph out of a 619 with an 8 year old Ficht, you’re doing really good.

Yea 55-56 is pretty good for that boat, but wouldnt hurt trying a 3 blade 23p. You might be able to get 2mph more out of it.

I’ve got a 620 with a 225 FICHT, same prop (21p 4blade renegade offshore) and can run around 56+- river current.

From what I’ve read, the 22p Raker is ‘ideal’ for my setup but I have a hard time changing. The hookup and holeshot is fantastic and I’m not sure I’d be willing to give that up for maybe 2-3mph increase.

    Bryce,
Same boat with a now dead 2002 200 ficht. Ran the same props your running, If your are realy getting 55 plus on a GPS then your are moving damm good for a 619!
I could never run 55 with a tournament load. I could hit 55 to 57 when the stars and moon linned up, low on fuel, a slight ripple on the water, and down stream in a flood.

Ran a 22p Raker and it would run a little faster then the four blade with a lite load, but the raker could never carry the tournament load well. It was a 51 to 54 mph prop.
Ran a 23p four blade that was great for crusing around and saving gas, It would turn 3500 rpms and be right at 40 mph.
21p cyclone four blade was the prop to run. Low fiftys and great hole shot. held and carryed the load well.
I also have a six inch jack plate on my rig. It helps some but takes alot of work and gas to get it set up right for the little gain you get.

Good luck with your ficht, Mine ran great right up till it died out of the blue this spring.
I have repowered with a Yamaha SHO and it runs great to. Haven’t got the props worked out yet but, the SHO is running 53 to 55 loaded.
