Anybody get out this week? I’m probably gonna try the AM tomorrow. Is the river stable or still on its way down? Bite? Cranks?

    Buehler? Buehler?

From the sounds of it it may be buggy. Check the May Fly report in the general forum. IF you see them thick on the trees just go shake a branch and they will all fly away.

Hey Jason! I got out and did a little shore fishing a couple of times this week. The river has been dropping pretty steadily a few inches a day. After this weekend and rain who knows? Cranks and hairjigs on wingdam areas produced a few fish for me. The current is still moving pretty good once you get out from the shore a ways. Good luck! I like your “Moby Dick Fishing” show. Very entertaining!

I made it out Wednesday for the first time in over a month

We did OK – Hairjigs and casting cranks took our fish. Fish were shallow!

Now that I got this house buying business done, I hope to get out on the water on a regular basis again

Thanks for the info guys…probably see you out there Mike. I’ll probably be solo tomorrow and also launching at 494.

As for that video thanks Joel. My niece was up from Missouri and wanted to go fishing. Although she caught three walleyes that day she wasn’t that into it…so we had a camera along and decided to film a fishing show instead. We had a blast planning the scenes and making up funny stuff to film. When we got home and watched the clips our guts ached from laughing so hard. I made that edition you saw and she made another one that is WAY funnier.

If you ever have a kid along that isnt really that into fishing you can sure have fun that way….even the fish cooperated that day although I caught the big one before we started filming.

Windows moviemaker is standard on most PC’s now and is a cinch to use.

man…i dont mind that its gonna stay up….but a rise of 1 foot in less than 24 hours is like flushing a toilet…i’m guessing it will be dirty and i hope it doesnt send the fish packing.

I may hit Pepin Sun. Between weekend boat traffic on the Croix and the flushing sound I can hear from the Miss I wont be putting in around here..

Looked at the NOAA forcast this morning. The river is up almost 2′ in st paul since Friday morning. Looks like it is going to be up another 2 to 3’towards the end of the week. The high water just never ends this year.

This mornings trip got postponed due to the rain. Hope to make it out tomorrow.

Made it out this am despite the rain. Fished til noon. Water was dirty, like chocolate milk. Boated 8 or 9, all 16-20″ with one large fish coming unbuttoned boatside. Trolling shorelines and backwaters 4-10 feet with flicker shads #7s. Launched at 494 w/ no issues. Good luck out there.
