Hit the water before 6a; breezy/choppy to windy/rolling. Trolled at the head of lake bottom bouncing plastics and small stick bait @ .8 to 1.2 mph. Zilch. Went to mid lake & bottom bounced crawler/spinner rigs or floating jighead w/ crawler chunk. Nadda. Switched crankbaits @ 2 to 2.5 mph. Zippo. Mostly between 12 & 18 fow but ranged from 9 to 20. Was disappointed after an active Wednesday evening.

I think the fishing is bad everywere not just uo there,I fish 10 and it’s been bad for quite sometime now. Water level is up and down all the time. We were up there the middle of june and did good 1 that was just under 10 lbs 1 7.5 and a bunch of 13-15inchers.

We actually slammed them yesterday-just shows they are always biting somewhere. We caught all our fish pitching jigs in 2-4 FOW due to the high flow tight to flooded willows. No big fish, but lots of eaters, plus a 20 inch smallie and largemouths thrown in the mix. Including short fish, about 20-30 walleyes caught on the day. We did drag jigs, but with minimal success due to the wind blowing-even a drift sock could not slow us down enough.

Yes,…I’ve had days like that. Friday was sort of ok for me in 13-16 fow using a floater with a leech on one pole and a copper spinner with a worm on the other. Trolled .9-1.2 on the ipilot. Kept 3 walleyes,…put back a 24″ and caught several shorts. Catfish and several drum also showed up. Fished between 7 and 11 with 9:30-10:30 the best time. Despite good June reports for some ,…this has been typical day for me this year. Saugers are eluding me this summer on all my favorite spots.

I have been doing pretty well on cranks on the lake. I have been pulling lead in deeper water, along with long lining with fire line. Allot of short fish being caught, but in the last week we have got a few good ones biggest being a 29 caught in 23 fow. Craw pattern and olive have been best for me. Good luck to anyone going out soon, it can be tough but stick with it they are there.
