Another Great P4 Trip

Got back a couple days ago from another great vacation to the P4 area.

We caught fish in a lot of places on a lot of techniques – from vertical jigging near Lacoupolis, to pullin 3-ways around Pepin, to leadin cranks at Maiden Rock and draggin jigs around the head of the lake.

Wish I could have fished more, but the SO is not a big fan of fishing in the rain and long boat rides in big waves.

Still, a great time was had, again. Even managed to find a couple new bars we hadnt been to on the rain-out days.

Plus a “bonus” fish that whacked a 16th-ounce draggin jig/leech in the same seam a 25-inch walleye had set up for dinner the day before. Thought I had a state record wally for a minute or so.

I sure envy you guys that can fish the P4 paradise whenever you want instead of a couple times a year.

And a big thanks to the IDO guys who provided pre-trip info.

Dean, he likes to move the boat around a bit before snapping photos.

I’ll take that as a compliment, I think.

Herb, shouldnt you be catfishing? We picked up a nice mess of those “easy” channel cats on your side of the river Wednesday for Sunday’s fish fry.

Brian, she put up quite the fight on the MXF Xtreme with 6 pound 832. And, of course, she went back for you to catch as a 50 pounder in a few years.

Larry, does she use the needle nose on the catfish too?
Been getting more than my share. Time to put up some sheephead for a fry.
