I had a chance to fish with another IDO-ER today. Stew and I headed out of Bay city and over to prespiterian point and caught bass or 2 up in the shallows. And Saw a ton of boats trolling the bouy line as well today. After a short bit we decided that the traffic was to heavey so we headed further down the lake (battling the wind and waves) my back still hurts. We stopped at Lake City and got in about 3 hours of fishing. With in 5 mins we had 2 keepers We were trolling at about 1.0 in 18ft with 3-ways. Several lines tipped with crawlers and some with minnows. It seemed today that there wasn’t a preference. The Bite was about 50-50. In the 3 hours today we caught 6 keeper saugers, 10 shorts, 5 short eye’s, a nice pike, and 2 big perch.
So it was a good day to be on the water.
We talked to some other guys and a few 30″ were being caught as well. Leeches were mentioned too. Another boat back at the dock said they had 6 nice ones on Fire Tiger raps too. So to me it seems that if you had a hook in the water you caught fish. Those are the good days.
I didn’t have chance to snap any pics while we were on the water today the wind was whistling and if there wasn’t a fish on I was working the trolling motor. So i did snap a pick of the 3lbs of fillets that will go into the grease this weekend!
Stew thanks for a great day and a new friendship, I can’t wait till our next time out!
