I’m looking at coming down May 31. How is Pool 4 looking? Is there a lot of trash in the water? I would just like to get my season off to a good start.

As of last weekend the water was still high for this time of year Jerry. High water means fast too. The rollers are still open at the dam. Very little debris in the water although there was some logs floating down stream on Saturday. Just keep your river eyes open.

Hopefully we get some decent weather and she comes down a bit in the next two weeks before I hit P4!

Unfortunately, P4 is starting to rise again with all of the rain this past weekend. The projection crest is 11.3 feet on May 30. It was 8.57 feet this morning. They typically over estimate the height of the crest, and have already backed down from the 11.8 feet they were projecting Sunday and Monday. I would expect 10-10.5 fet though. You can follow it here.

What level would be considered ‘normal’ summer flow on that graph?

Doug, I use the info at the Lock which is a little different. Stage and Pool is measured in Sea Level and not feet above datum.

The info I pmed you is for the dam area and not Red Wing which one would think would be the same, but it’s not.

I do know with those projections there won’t be much “beach” again at Everts.

That’s OK, easier to just tie the boat to the picnic table anyway.

    Thanks for the info BK.

I would say 3-3.5 feet although the river is very rarely stable for any extended period of time. Use the other graph if you find it easier to remember what elevation above sea level the dam is.

Thanks for the replys. I’m coming down what ever so I might have to learn a little high water fishing. Not my strong point, but if you don’t try it you can’t learn what to do. I’ll be around Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning.

So did you make it down to fish P4? Just wondering how you did?
