Awesome day on the water today! My oldest son and I hit 5a and caught a LOT of walleye plus some bonus white bass, small mouth, large mouth, bluegills, perch, pike…

Ended up keeping 7 walleye between 16″ and 18″ with at least 10 legal walleye released. No real pigs but a few between 19″ and 20″.

Some nice perch with 3 around the 11″ mark coming home and one 13″+ perch being released. Only one sheep and one carp and no saugers.

Fished shallow sand and rock areas where we could get out of the current. Minnows, paddletails, ringworms, and crankbaits did the trick for us.

Good going. I’ll take those perch any day.

Nice catch, again! Too bad you did not drive another hour to sit with 56 tourney boats and the usual weekend traffic on p-4. At least Alex caught a 22″, he just left the short ones for me…

Thanks, would have been nice to share the boat with you guys but getting up at 4am and 4+ hours of windshield time (round trip) did not excite Zack. I guess the move paid off for us. We boated over 100 walleye yesterday – even though most were in the 10-14″ year class. It looks like a good population of fish to come. The weather cooperated too.

I hear ya on the boat traffic though

Nice going! I’m only about 20 minutes from from 5A.

Maybe I’ll head up there this afternoon.
