I will be heading down to Willie’s if I go…still debating whether to head down or go north of the metro and fish panfish.

Was out Sat. Water temp was 45.5. Lions and 494 are still flooded out and not usable. Put in at Willies. The water is running pretty clean for how high it is. Main channel current is still pretty strong. Not much debris coming down. There were plenty of current breaks to fish. Also checked out some off channel areas. No eyes but did stick a few white bass. Was nice to be back on P2 for sure.

The flood forecast should put the water down to a point where the ramps should open here soon. But this all day rain might change that.

Plus we all have to convince the City of South St. Paul to get on the 494 access and get it back open!

Need to start calling the city about that. They typically are not in to much of a hurry to reopen the landings. I would guess fishing opener might get them to reopen the public landings.

If you are looking for something close to 494 try Mississippi pub. Its just about a mile south of 494 on the same side of the river. Willies is open on the other side. These marinas have such nice landings I dont have any problem paying the $10 to launch at them. Willies even has video cameras on their parking lots.

I’ll be out on pool 2 this weekend. Fishing from shore will be the way to go for me this weekend. To all you guys wondering about the launches, the fish are biting in shallow water! I’ve been catching walleyes from shore for a few weeks now. I have been hitting fish on jigs w/meat, jigs w/plastic and crankbaits. My largest fish so far was 25″.
