What’s the reel on the bottom bouncer setup?

    Great video.

Another question – When you guys are running your lead core and board set-ups, you made a comment about loving to hear the clicker. Are you leaving your drag set moderately loose so the weight of most fish being pulled at over 2.0mph will start pulling drag, and then tightening once you get to the rod? OR…was that particular fish that much bigger that it started peeling line immediately? Thanks.

I typically keep my drags just tight enough to keep the drag from slipping. Once the fish is hooked up the drag is tightened as needed. When you hook a good fish the drag will really sound off!

Thank you so much, I’m working on setting up my first lead core rig and I needed this.

Okuna needs to make a bait feeder in a baitcast/line counter real. Two separate drags for running cranks and realing in fish.

Ya know, if you guys are short of $$ for a net we could pass the hat. grin

You guys are way braver than I am going netless.

I love me some bottom bouncing, though. Can’t wait. Not sure if saw correctly, but appeared your main lines on bottom bouncers were mono? Interesting. I always use braid for main line. To each his own. You catch way more fish than I do, so…

Thanks James, good to see a show where the hosts aren’t pounding 12″ Walleyes.

    Some great info as always.

I’ve got more nets than I know what to do with. I’m short the ability to remember them. If you’ve got a fix for that let me know.

We use a combination of mono and braid. It comes down to the rods we decide to use on a given day. If we’re using our softer, slower action trolling rods we’ll go with braid. If we’re using heavier power faster action bass casting rods we reach for the mono.

We caught a ton of those too. Particularly on Lake of the woods where that year class of small walleyes and saugers seem to be everywhere. Thankfully we caught enough nicer fish so we didn’t have to put any shakers in the video.

I do but it requires me to tag along. I promise you will never be without a net again. jester
