Do any of you guys running crawler harnesses ever catch catfish while fishing for walleye?

River Rat Randy would drag through known channel cat spots (that i showed him LOL!) while guiding for walleyes if the eyes weren’t biting. I’ll see if I can roust him out to chime in. )

I was hoping this thread would have been more about the subject line. LOL! )

I’ve tried using a large spinner blade and a few beads in front of cut bait before. Didn’t seem to help much but it didn’t seem to deter bites either

I don’t run harnesses in particular for eyes on the river because of the snags. But yes, when running live bait on any kind of rigs/hooks I get catfish.

We run smaller versions of a Walleye harness for Kokanee and will periodically get a large catfish as a by-catch. It is always a shock catching a big cat in suspended water.

I opened this ready to laugh, thinking I’d see a post about a harness that holds walleye so BK could use them on catfish. smile

That’s what I was hoping for, but everyone knows wet rags don’t make for good cat bait unless it’s cut up. shock

Very frequently on Winnebago. Especially trolling harnesses slowly around structure.

My 1/4 oz jigs on up to 3oz showed up in the mail yesterday.

Think they’re too big to pitch ringworms for eyes?
    Lol

Knowing thems is Sasquatch hands, it looks like you could tip them with a walleye.
