Anyone else play around with making YouTube videos? I’ve honestly started to enjoy making the videos almost as much as hunting and fishing!
Here is our latest video, Walleye Cheek Ceviche!
Let me know what you think!

Oh boy – first post is to pimp the Youtube channel…..this should get good.
And everyone knows musky cheeks are better……
Great Video.
I love Ceviche. The best I’ve ever had was Conch Ceviche in the Bahamas. There was a little old man who use to set up his Ceviche cart just outside the Villas that we were staying in. I would visit him each morning we were there and have him make me a slightly different mix each time. He’d make it right there on the spot in front of you using what ever ingredients you wanted in it. He made it with Conch, Shrimp, snapper, or crab. All of them were excellent but the conch was the best. I have since started making it myself at home from time to time, Mostly with shrimp because its easy to get. I may have to try my next batch with walleye. No cheek’s around but a few fresh walleye. The part about gloves when cutting peppers was funny because I’ve been there and done that – NOT GOOD !!!!

Everyone has to have a 1st post at some time. I thought it was a rather good video to watch. Youtube video’s are rather common these days. It adds a additional way for some to share what they love to do. I personally enjoy watching them. I’ve learned more than a few things from some of them recently.

I don’t mind it – but it will get the natives restless. And by the natives, I mean @Dutchboy
Guys don’t need to be so hard on new members. If you don’t like or need the content, move on. Would think today with most forums dying you wouldn’t want to bash every new person for not doing anything wrong. I can think of another post this week that is similar.
Oh man, this reminds me of a recent work trip to Peru. My co workers warned me to NEVER eat ceviche while I was on a foreign trip there, no matter how many times I was asked to try it by the locals (because its their native/country dish). It contained raw fish of an unknown source and getting sick from it was a reality so I declined it over and over and over again. I don’t think the locals cared for my negativity on it but at least I never got sick!

It’s not raw, it’s cooked with acid if made properly.
First off I LOVE CEVICHE. General Rule (not hard and fast) is not to make Ceviche from freshwater fish because of the possible parasites.

How about your first post as a thoughtful reply to a post…or at least familiarize yourself to the forum and post this in the right section.
I really enjoy some of the stuff guys post on here that is Youtube content. But they become part of the community first.
Good for this guy trying to build a brand but my opinion is there is a better way to do it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Agree.
But it’s just not the right attitude to jump on somebody about it. No need to say anything at all in that case.
You never know, could end up being a good contributor on the site.
This should have been called “BEST WALLEYE CEVICHE (W/PROOF)” And it probably is cause its the only one.

I’ve eaten Ceviche in 4 different countries from probably 50 different places and have never gotten sick. I don’t worry near as much eating Ceviche or most other foods from foreign countries as I do from most of the fast food restaurants here in the US. That’s my favorite part of visiting other countries – Enjoying some of the local foods.
I’d shy away from any fresh water Ceviche. Would be worried about picking up the worms….. Maybe freeze those check for a few months to be safe???

I’ve seen data that Freezing fish for 48Hr’s will kill any worms or parasites that they contain.
Ceviche is no good unless you use fresh fish imho……I wouldn’t do it with freshwater fish.
Tapeworms give me nightmares, and I don’t think the FW is going to grab hold and pull one out for me!
I did that to my dog once. Couldn’t figure out why he had a spaghetti noodle on his butt. Got kinda weird when it came out wiggling.
