What tent did you go with ?

Im a buy once cry once kind of guy. Generally speaking i believe in buying a product that is well built and will last a long time. I also look for value and in these cases, it seems these items will last a long time at a good price point. We shall see

That’s awesome, let me know how it does once hunting season comes and goes. I was thinking about purchasing a second hand tent as well so I can spend more time on the rainy river when that season comes. 2 to 3 weeks instead of a week in the Otter. The hub house does well but the lady wants a little more space.

For me the challenge and struggle of dealing with the elements is part of the appeal. I want to be further away from creature comforts rather than be closer to them.

    Amen to that. Sounds awesome.

Im the opposite. After our recent trip to LOW and all the fiasco we had I am done camping. We camp on an island and literally bring boat loads of crap to make it possible. Every year we have wild thunderstorms roll in that rattle us. This year we had super high water and our normal island was under water so we had to build a new camp. The buy who brings the grill and burners didnt bring propane tanks. We lost at least a day’s worth of fishing with all the mishaps. There is an AirBnB on an island not 5 miles from where we camp which I found like 6 years ago, but the main guy wouldnt bite because he enjoys the “experience”. Screw that! I go up there to fish NOT to camp and be miserable. Next year we are in the cabin which will be so much better since we wont have to bring much of anything besides food.

it wasnt until i went on my first real live-out-of-your-pack type hunt for 8 days that i realized i dont need to bring so much shite with me to survive. Even on hunts where im “truck camping” or staying at a motel I dont bring near the crap i used to think i “needed”. Pretty liberating feeling actually.

Anywho, carry on. Would love a follow up on the wall tent after this season!
