Waders – my ankles and calves say help… , I need a clue for Mrs Clause

It is time to look for some better waders. My current pair is 10 years old, I believe they are Hodgman’s from Fleet Farm about $100 price range.
I wear them 3 to 4 times each spring and fall. Dock in/Dock out, mine and the neighbors. Boats in/Boats out at some shallow ramps.
I don’t need a $1000 pair designed with sock feet and over boots, and I don’t plan to take up fly fishing…

They are starting to leak at the connection between the boots and the body. Not much, but just enough to get my socks and jeans damp to the middle of my calves.

I could probably live with the dampness if the boots were easier to get off and on (I wear an 11 shoe and the waders are 12s). My other complaint is that boots are so stiff that they rub the skin off the inside of my calves and ankles and the soars last for weeks.

So the question is, “If you were sitting on Mrs Clauses lap and whispering wish list items in here ear, what would you tell her to have Santa bring…”

Why rule out stocking foot? A little more production to put them on but I’ve always found stocking foot waders to be more comfortable, lighter, better boot fit and certainly less clunky. You don’t have to break the bank on a basic pair of stocking foot neoprene. Easy to do some Amazon searches too.

Yea, I have a pair of hodgesons that i used to use for trout fishing. The connection between the leg and the boot is always going to be a weak point and i’ll be honest, I have the same problems getting the boots on and off… especially if i wear thick socks in the cold spring months. Your best bet if you don’t want to go with stocking foot is some cheap rubber waders. Rubber isn’t prone to leaking and stands up better than cloth or neoprene.
Looks like Amazon has a bunch of options that are less than $50.

Would a seam of shoe goo bridge and patch the leaks?
