Waders melting

Have some neoprene gander mountain waders that i got on clearance when they were closing. Been great, served me well, but i fear they are getting past their prime. And I spend a lot of time in them.

There is an almost oil like slick that floats on top of water that comes from them. Is that normal? Some deeper gashes on padded knees, smaller cuts here and there from crawling thru woods, but no leaks, but maybe the rubber is starting to let go? Just not sure what to think.

Rather have another set than deal with a night of no fishing, or just let them melt away slowly?

No spills on them, either stored in back of truck(giving a wonderful river scum aroma👍 to the vehicle) or hanging up in garage when not in season.
