Legal Recreational Marijuana and Sports betting

Legalized Marijuana is going to need some support from the big pharma and medical companies in the state, and Sports Betting needs the tribes blessing/monopoly on running it without giving up much. Both are pretty big asks and why they aren’t already legal here.

It would seem equity and wokism has gotten into politics. People now feel anyone should have the right to be a leader instead of appointing actual leaders. Its frightening.

There has been a definite uptick in TV personalities and football players running.

I don’t see how they could do any worse than some of those who have had 40 years to figure it out, and still make a mess of things.

From what I understood, the legislation for both is already written, it was just stalled with the split chambers ? They said with their “Blue Wave” in Minnesota or their “Tri-fecta”… (they were all giddy on what to call it)….granted it was about 6:30am this morning, but I was on my second coffee when I heard it.

I’m guessing litter boxes in schools is going to be high on their list as well. Furries need their rights protected.

Pretty generous of you to consider most existing politicians fit the ‘actual leaders’ category lol.

Democratic Senators have prevailed in both Arizona and Nevada. That gives the Senate a Democratic majority of 51 after the Vice President casts a vote. Even if Walker beats Warnock in the Georgia runoff, it will only give Republicans 49 votes. Former President Trump backed and endorsed both losing Republican candidates in Arizona and Nevada.

The House is still projected to be a Republican majority. Official results are still being counted there.

It sure looks like the beginning of the end of Trump’s influence in politics. Most of his backed candidates seemed forced or extreme and were rejected. I don’t see him getting the nomination and winning. If this country couldn’t manage more than a tiny shift to the red after all the ammunition over the last few years, I’d put the odds of Trump winning a general election at a minuscule percentage. Republicans need to turn the page.

On the other side, this midterm election is a bit of a head scratcher for Dems also. They’re the party of extreme personalities hanging onto their most “moderate” electable nominee for 2024 being senile Joe. I figured if he lost both branches of congress he’d admit he won’t run again within months. Now, who knows? The Dem party is such a cluster of radicals also that finding someone to run would be tough. Calling them disorganized would be a compliment.

Whichever party moves on the quickest and resets to find leaders who focus on real things that impact everyone (inflation, fuel prices, crime, infrastructure, foreign affairs, energy independence, etc) while skipping the social BS…will carry seats and the Presidency in 2024. Bonus points to whichever party pushes a candidate forward who won’t be 80 in their term (Sorry Donny and Joe).

Trump lost to a guy running a campaign out of his basement in 2020. Since 2020, his support has only fallen. Now to a point anyone he endorses, underperforms badly. Yet there is still a huge portion of the Republican Party that are loyal to him.

The Republican Party in DC has a massive problem. You can’t win a primary without Trump, but you can’t win a general election with him.

    Big announcement coming Tuesday.
