they work great, I found if you move the knot back toward the hook so they hang perfectly horizontal the work even better.

Do you guys typically start with the middle sized one? For gills, favorite colors?

Best bluegill (no live bait needed) ice jig I have ever used. I do rotate colors during the day….We are getting out to the lakers in the Apostles this year Dave….

Yes…but sometimes when I’m speed trolling for fish..quickly hopping from hole to hole looking for active fish I like to use the 1/16oz size

Used them for the first time yesterday and they were awesome for sunfish and crappies. Tipped with a waxie they outperformed everything else.

Definitely a go to for me now!

Can’t find the bullfly anywhere in the south metro… It’d be nice not having to tip my ice flies.

I found some at Woodbury Cabela’s last week, but they were mixed into the regular fly shelf spaces in the ice cave.

They were 5.19/pack at Gander. Then 60% off+ little more with Good sam card. For some reason these were passed-up,so I grabbed a bunch.

The Cold snap hook remover works great on these, hemostats can destroy them.

That’s my favorite part of the VMC product, the tie sitting inline with the hook for easy knot angle adjustments. The new Cs&J wolfinkee has been getting some use simply because of that.

I wish everybody sold the tiny stuff in 2pks. 1 pks are just inviting a quick bite off. tongue

James, are they all 2 packs? I was checking for them online yesterday and saw one add that said 2 per card but all the others didn’t say that so I’m curious. The regular tungsten jig is 1/pack which looks the same without the rear feather isn’t it?

I’m pretty sure that all the VMC Ice Fly’s and Bull Fly’s are 2 packs

Thanks Dave, You’re right, I just saw the tungsten flies at Gander. No bull flies though. Seems like VMC and Rapala are great at putting out products after most stores get their inventories in for the fall or spring.

Every pack of VMC flies I’ve ever bought were 2 packs. Ten cents less for a CJS Jaje that has to get tipped vs a 2 pack of bullflies that don’t, I’ll definitely take the bullflies. It’s just good sense.
