VMC SureSet Treble hook discontinued…is there a replacement coming?

I recently went to all my favorite tackle stores looking for VMC SureSet Treble hooks and none of the stores had them. Scheels in Fargo had 4 empty slots where they used to be. I decided to order them online and on VMC’s website it states discontinued. Does anyone know if there is a replacement in the works? Or is there another good alternative? Thanks in advance.

When I spoke with James on this at the show he said they are not going to make anymore. Guess it was originally made for bass fisherman and they did not like them so they are not making anymore? Too bad they work great on tip ups.

That’s why I just bought 40 of them, should last me a long time

What size are people using for tip-ups?

I have been taking them off some of my Rapala crankbaits to use for tip-ups. They’re horrible hooks for a crankbait but they work well on a tip-up. I think they’re size 2, 4, and 6.

I used the size 6 and 8s with about a 4-5″ shiner. Worked great in those sizes for big walleye and mid sized pike. If I was fishing a body with known bigger pike, I’d go with a 2 or 4, but my bait would also step up too

I use those gami’s on some of my cranks… Those aren’t like the suresets. It’s just the angle of the picture. Those gami’s are basically a triple grip hook.

I ordered from lure parts online and they come in ten packs I got 20.

I ordered and they were at my door in like 2 days. They still had some left.

I think it was $3.87 for 10. Shipping is what kills you but hey I am set if they don’t continue them but I am sure someone will bring them back as they are awesome for ice fishing.

Lure Parts online must have got some more in. I looked a month ago and they were all sold out and now I see they have them again. Might need to make another order just to make sure I never run out

Which Gamakatsu hook is pictured? One shank looks like the KVD Elite Triple Grip, which is the best crankbait hook I’ve tried, but the other two shanks look like standard.
