Not only a huge thank you to everyone working in the clinics, hospitals and first responders, but also the workers in the Hy-vees, Wal-Mart’s, etc. I very much appreciate your job and dedication in these trying times.

Excellent point. To me, I’ve got even more appreciation for these types of workers, especially cashiers, than I do for anyone else- even those in healthcare. Big time respect to them applause

How do you all feel about that $15/hr minimum wage idea now?

I read this earlier today and still don’t understand where you are going with this. What does minimum wage have to do with anything?

because most the people working in grocery stores and wal mart are making minimum wage and now you have to depend on them waytogo

If I paid them $100 a hour I would still depend on them. Or $7.50 a hour for that matter.

Most grocery store employees get paid pretty well. I know a couple of people that started at Hy-Vee at $15 an hour. Plus Hy-Vee is employee owned so they get profit sharing too. Cub Foods is a union job and you get paid quite well + pension. My childhood neighbor worked there 30+ years. Working in grocery is a pretty nice gig.

Either way you still can’t make a living on $15 an hour

Guessing there are TONS of people with BA degrees that are over qualified, that could replace them.

Just saw a clip on TV showing medical personnel treating people, they had masks, face shields, hair nets, scrubs, etc. Unreal to think about getting all geared up and going head-on at patients with the virus.

People talk a lot (rightly so) about police, military, and firefighters running toward the danger while everyone runs away; these medical professionals are doing the same thing.
