Did that 99 year old super fan they sent to the game survive the event?? I’m several decades younger than her and nearly had a heart attack myself!
Funny you ask, this had me lmao.

Also the Skol chant is moronic. It’s as if they looked at “Go Pack Go” (also stupid) and said to themselves, “how can we make this even worse?” Incredibly high school.
How should fans cheer then? Unless drunk or unruly, what really is wrong with a group cheer? Fans go to games to have fun and to be part of the game. Should they just stay seated and clap politely?
At least this is not as disrespectful as FSU and Atlanta Braves tomahawk chant.

You must be a helluva lot of fun at parties. Besides, I always thought it was “Blow Pack Blow”???
Well there is this…
Confirmed. From today’s Start Trib.
Saints coach Sean Payton taunted fans with a ‘Skol clap’ just before the Vikings won
Sean Payton’s move was first pointed out by former Vikings linebacker Ben Leber, who works as an analyst for KFAN radio, and corroborated by photo evidence on Twitter.

If you believe in karma, you along with the Vikings won on Sunday during the Minnesota’s 29-24 miraculous comeback victory over the Saints in the NFC Divisional playoff.
Saints coach Sean Payton apparently turned around and taunted Vikings fans with a “Skol clap” at U.S. Bank Stadium after New Orleans took a 24-23 lead with 25 seconds left. It was first pointed out by former Vikings linebacker Ben Leber, who now works as an analyst for KFAN and Fox Sports, and corroborated by photo evidence on Twitter.
No Zapruder film was needed for this one. This was not long after Payton was also caught giving the universal “choke” gesture to the Falcons, referencing the 28-3 blown lead in the Super Bowl. The Saints also lost that game.

The proof is in the purple pudding
Hey,chant away fellas. Whatever floats your Knarr!
Besides, I always thought it was “Blow Pack Blow”???
Like I said, I’m a GB fan and I think that one’s stupid too. But I don’t need to stoop to middle-school oral-sex innuendo to make my point.

There’s nothing “wrong” with cheers, I don’t find it disrespectful in the least, just dumb. That’s my opinion and I never represented it as anything more than that. Sports teams do a lot of silly stuff to attempt to get fans “involved.” I’m more interested in the action on the field and have never needed a rouser to get excited about my teams.
Although I do have a sweet copy of “Win Twins” on vinyl.

Guess I don’t need to ask your thoughts on “the wave”?

My 8 and 10 year old kids think it’s like, super neato.
All this hoopla about the Vikings just because they won a single playoff game…..?

Stop being so sensitive. Only Packer fans would think of it that way, but I guess you see lots of odd things with peeing in sinks at Lambeau after all the beer and Johnsonvilles.
Why are we even mentioning the Pack?
To try and keep them relevant.
As far as Payton and the Skol clap and the other chants… Who cares? We seem to take a sport far to seriously, unless of course we are talking about a player getting partially paralyzed. It’s a game, nothing more, nothing less.

Sensitive? Yes, please be more polite, you’re hurting my precious feelings
I forgot, that phrase originated at a birthday celebration for a family of wolves struggling to extinguish their candles.

Speaking of, Steve Gleason’s response to the game won the internet as far as I’m concerned:
crowd chants in futball (soccer) are awesome! In the U.S. the only one I miss is the old Tomahawk chop from the Braves in the 90’s. It was just cool hearing the whole stadium do that chant. Its since been deemed inappropriate of course but I have no comment on that part of it.
A native Icelander helped pass along the Skol Chant tradition to the Minnesota Vikings after the Iceland men’s national soccer team made it famous upon its return from the Euro 2016.
The chant — known as the Viking War Chant in Iceland — starts as a slow clap above the head and slowly speeds up.
I think it’s pretty bada$$. What a great way to get fans involved while getting them pumped up. Tough to get pumped up by saying “go pack go” or the worst one yet “everybody clap your hands”.
Sean Payton sure enjoyed it for those 25 seconds. Choke job’s on him!
Dilly Dilly, bring on Philly
Next victim is Screamin A Smith who said the Kings of the North should have no business in Philly. Evidently he has never seen the Tyree catch or the Butler pick at the 1 yard line. I hope he’s near a sideline when Barr is on a B line.
