The only state Roger’s was better than Maholmes was his 2 more TD’s otherwise Roger’s was worse and much worse in many cases of every QB stat you can attain vs Maholmes.

Oh, so NOW stats matter? LOL I know you arent the one who said it, I just couldnt help myself. The only reason I even brought it up in the first place was because everyone was saying he was washed up. He is a shell of himself from years ago, but he has tread left. I dont see him signing here however. Reading the tea leaves if it were going to happen it would have already. Which is perfectly fine by me, we just need a few backups because JJ is all we got and just hope he amounts to anything. It would be a shame to find out he isnt ready and not have someone capable to play with the roster as it sits now.

I’m sure he can still throw a football. I’m sure there is some tread left.
I am just in favor of moving on and trying to put QB in place for more than one year at a time. That system is almost impossible to work with when trying to build a contender.

I think the stall of him not signing is a sign he actually might come here. Otherwise the Steelers option is the best if he wants to keep playing.

Erin is Erin , he won once but failed all the other times.

yep some teammates like him but there are some that did not. I mean his family will not even talk to him. Vikes have had drama already in the past without a guy like Erin. Move on with the rookie QB take our lumps and hope he has enough talent around him to ease the rookie year.

I cannot disagree with this either. Hopefully it pans out for JJ.

I think there is a 10-20% chance Cousins in back in purple as the backup in 2025. ATL will have to cut him and eat his salary, he would be fairly cheap.

I hate Aaron as much as the next guy but even worse then him would be if we got Travis Kelce somehow.

That Beta male needs to stay in KC.
Could you imagine all the video of Taylor Swift that would be shown at every Viking game.

Pleased with the Jeff Okudah singing. Another tool for BFlo to work with.

Hopefully he can stay healthy, could be a very nice pickup.

Well the not pursuing Rodgers news is a bummer. I was really looking forward to the release of Last Dance 2.0 on ESPN in twenty years narrated by McAfee.

All the news sources are now saying the Vikings have no interest in Rogers. Some of the other rumored teams are now also out on him as well. He choice’s are getting fewer and fewer each day. It now sounds like only the Browns, Giants, Steelers or Titans still have any interest in him.

Looking at free agency Grade rankings, the Vikings are near the top on a lot of sports writers rankings. Looking at 3 different ones, the Vikings got a A, A-, and a B+. GB got a B,B,and B- on the same rankings. The Commanders seem to be near the top of most all list.

Lol if we’re going to use that as a metric on a down year for Mahomes we should have extended Darnold.

But we didn’t, because the FO has a plan that revolves around JJ being successful.

I think the not extending Darnold had mostly to do with how he preformed in the last few games of the season when the pressure was on him.

I disagree. He made a heep of money this year doing what he did. I don’t think the last two games mattered much. If anything it shortened this contract which will be huge if he performs in Seattle. He’ll be under 30 years old when the next contract rolls around. If he stays as he was with the Vikings he will get a long term deal.

Vikings just signed Rondale Moore. He’s been injury prone, but high upside if he’s healthy.

Sounds like the Vikings should be getting compensatory picks for Cam Robinson and possibly Daniel Jones (if he gets enough snaps this year) in the 2026 draft.

Darnold got $45M guaranteed, which is on the VERY low end of starting QB guaranteed money. Those last two games likely cost him $55m-$100m in my estimation. Had he played well and lost there likely would have been someone willing to give him 4+ years and $150M guaranteed.

As long as he hasn’t signed and the Vikes haven’t signed another QB there is a possibility. He clearly had no interest in the Giants. Can’t blame him. His options are the Steelers and Vikes and neither has made a move yet.

As I read these posts/discussions on Rodgers, I’m reminded of when Favre came here. At that time, there was all the speculation, rumors and unsubstantiated chatter. A guy who worked at the same company as I did was married to a gal who worked for the attorneys that worked out his deal. According to him, the whole deal was signed, sealed and delivered like a week before the final announcement. Not sure how true that is but it wouldn’t surprise me.
