1 year at 9.25 with the chargers

That’s a steal, he is going to be a FF beast there with Harbaugh feeding him the rock 30 times a game.

Yeah I bet the Vikings would have done that but went the safer route early to not lose out on both Jones and Harris.
I still think they will prioritize another veteran back in free agency or draft one fairly early.

Daniel Jones just signed with the Colts. $14 million.

Doh. Probably a smart move for him as he actually has a chance to compete for the starting job in Indy. He was going to be a backup here.

And now is when Rodgers has his agent start the bidding war between the Steelers and the Vikings

I don’t think they are going that route. They are looking for a veteran with some talent for backup. Not an expensive starter. With the moves they have made they probably couldnt even afford him at this point. JJ will have the keys to the car.

Now what if the Falcons release Cousins. Who already will have gotten paid…Does he fit that bill to be back in purple. whistling

We aren’t bidding, it’s here’s $15-20m for one year, take it or leave it. You will get a playoff ready team, QB friendly coach/organization and a chance at getting back at MLF and Gutey 2x + the playoffs.

    I don’t even think it’s that much.

I think it’s Russel to Giants and Erin to the Steelers.

If Danny Dimes got $14M, it’s that much. At least.

The problem with making that asshole an offer is he might accept it. I’d rather have the Gopher quarterback for a backup.

For Roger’s yes I meant the Vikes are not paying that much. Don’t you think Danny would have taken the 20 million then?

I would love to see Rodgers in Minnesota purely for the dysfunction factor. It’d be a brand new episode in the soap opera.

I don’t see the Vikings ponying up the cash it will take if Jones was $14 million and they didn’t want to dive that far in for a year. Rodgers isn’t going to play for $10-15 million per year and will probably want a second year on the deal which should be a non-starter for the Vikings.

If I had to guess as of Tuesday morning, I’d say Rodgers gets a deal done with the Steelers that seems like a large sum of money and is for 2 years. I can also see the Vikings kicking the tires on Wilson and telling him he’s the starter for the year and take it week by week after that.

I believe they have Rypien still. Gardner Minshew might be an option.
I don’t think they are looking for someone to start and JJ take over like the plan was last year.
I think it’s JJ’s spot to lose at this point.

They are looking for a back-up not a starter. It’s McCarthy’s job to lose.

Exactly I’m sure they would have loved Danny Dimes to work with so in the case JJ wasn’t ready or an injury they would feel confident moving forward. Still young and was obviously talented at one point. God knows this team has been cursed injury wise with QB’s under KOC.

After reading more about Darnolds contract I think Seattle did a smart move. Geno was not going to win you much of anything. Arnold deal is basically 2 years and his cap hit for this year is only 12 percent of the team cap which is one of the lowest for a veteran QB.

Geno Smith has hit his ceiling. He wasn’t winning you anything. For the same money Seattle gets younger with a guy who maybe hasn’t hit his ceiling yet. It was a no brainer. My question is why would Pete Carroll want him in Vegas?

Because he needed someone that could throw a football till they draft the guy they really want to throw the football. Raiders were rolling out Aiden O’connel

Well, it will be a very different QB room next season, that’s for sure. JJ is the only face returning to the halls of TCO Performance Center. We don’t really have the draft picks to waste on late round 100-to-1 QB prospect. Do we sign some Free agent, able-bodied backups for JJ? Or is he again the back-up for history to repeat itself? (gulp!)

I’m a fan of the signings that have been made thus far. Jonathan Allen is a beast! Interior OL help looks like great signings as well. Kwesi cooking in free agency again? Appears so.

As for QB situation, I’d take Gardner Minshew or Joe Flacco as a veteran backup.

Minshew maybe, Flacco??? I think it’s time for him to hang up the cleats.

What’s the Pass-tronaut doing? Still with SF? (Mostly joking)

I think I saw he actually signed somewhere.

    Edit. Signed with New England.

    Still guys like
    Mariota
    Winston
    Heinicke
    Locke
    Wentz
    Rudolph

Not sure if the red rocket is available.

And Cousins may become available. LOL

In NFC North, Bears looking as big winners so far. Too bad all these free agency hires are needed due to Ryan Poles inability to draft & develop players.

Playoff games aren’t won in March. It’s interesting how the Chiefs, Eagles, Bills, Ravens, and Lions haven’t been really making major splash moves in free agency.

I’ll go out on a limb and predict the Bears to finish under .500 regardless of their free agent signings.

In just a few short years, the 49ers went from a roster that was almost too talented and deep to lose with cap flexibility to boot……to a team that is completely dismantled and has opted to pay the piper with dead cap hits knowing they will be a shell of their former selves.

They still have Kittle, Purdy, McCaffrey, Warner, Bosa….but the rest of that roster is going to look completely different.

That what a rookie QB contract looks like.

The packers seem like a team that can’t do either.

Going to be a reality check of not having a HOF Qb for 20 years.
