Zimmer should be fired. Way, way too many games the team comes out totally flat. Spielman should be fired too.

And can we admit it just didn’t work out with Cousins? Trade him for whatever you can get and move on. I’d rather watch a rookie give it a go each year than this garbage.

IMO the Wilf’s have been very good, generous owners that truly strive to win a Super Bowl. Having said that I have to believe that Spelman is on thin ice.

This would’ve been the perfect game to put a decent 2nd-stringer in. The way Cousins started would’ve given anyone an out for pulling him. Unfortunately the Vikes don’t have anyone on the active QB depth chart that would make that worth it.

IMO the Wilf’s have been very good, generous owners that truly strive to win a Super Bowl.

I would agree with that as well. I know the Vikes are deserving of much criticism. But all it takes to appreciate the Wilfs as professional sports owners is to be a Twins fan.

The Jets will draft him. No one else is even remotely close to being as bad as they are.

Are you sure? Vikings are just as bad if you watched them play.

We still have Erin and Lefluer to make fun of (who did they hire a dodge ball coach)

I’m no MN Vikings fan…the exact opposite. With that being said, some heads need to roll (and not Zimmers). The following moves all look terrible and someone should have to answer to them:

-Offering a fully guaranteed extension to Cousins (an immobile QB) while surrounding him with one of the worst OLs in the NFL the last few years. It’s not JUST Cousins, but also the choice year after year to not seek OL help.

-Paying Rudolph was a dumb move. He has 8…yes 8 total catches on the season. Irv Smith was drafted high and they’ve awkwardly held onto both.

-Anthony Barr was a bad resigning. He’s been very medicore at best when healthy. He’s overpaid in a league where finding team friendly contracts is a key to success.

-Anthony Harris extension looks questionable. He plays physical and makes some nice plays, but blatantly blows a lot of coverages for what he’s paid. He’s not in the world of Harrison Smith but is paid likewise.

-The mismanagement of Diggs is now obvious. Yes he was a baby. However, he’s second in the league in yards currently with Buffalo. Other teams have plenty of egos but somehow manage them.

    Agree with everything except Diggs.
I think Jefferson is going to be a stud and much better overall player than whiney butt Diggs.
He’s a rookie playing like a sure Pro Bowler.
I like the deal we got.

What the hell is up with Rogers today?? Lol

Those 14 points off turnovers will catch up with them, hopefully they can overcome it.

I turned it off at halftime and went hunting. Lots of free Sundays the rest of the fall and winter now!

I’m amazed that this thread is allowed to stay active. Embarrassing is what it is. And on Cousins….he’s too friggin short to be a qb in the nfl. Unless of course they can find a way for him to play with lift kits in his shoes.

Obviously not tall enough to get a ball over the knuckle draggers facing him. And its not been just today’s game.

They are rumored to already be tanking the season to draft Lawrence.

I’ll be riding whoever plays the Jets in my eliminator competition, including the Dolphins today who are currently up 24-0

It’s bad enough watching Green Bay getting blown out, But having to listen to Troy Assman and Joe Suck makes me want to run ice picks into my ears, why we do we seem to always get these two asshats for our games?

off topic, but as a lifelong Packers hater, I have to give Erin Rodgers some points for his Hingle McCringleberry TD celebration yesterday…that was some funny stuff…ok back to hating them…

Until the Vikes play well enough to qualify for NBC, CBS or ABC you’re stuck with the asshats.

Well, FOX has a contract with the NFC and CBS has a contract with the AFC.

Also, the Vikings were just on NBC last week against the Seahawks. And ABC doesn’t televise NFL football unless you consider ESPN to be a part of it.

They are Foxs #1 announcing team. They get assigned what the network thinks the fans will have the most interest in. Eyeballs equal advertising dollars. With the exception of the big markets teams in New York, LA, Chicago you will seldom have to endure them if your team sucks and is playing another marginal team.

The issue at hand may be the Offensive coaches, mainly the Kubiaks. The players on offense are basically the same as they were last season, but Stefanski is gone now calling plays for an much improved Cleveland team. Last year with Stefanski calling plays, Cousins had a very good season and made the pro bowl. I don’t know if he’s just not executing anymore but I have to think that the plays being called are more to blame now. That and the defense is atrocious too, both because players have left/traded and because there are some injuries. I thought they were absolutely more competitive against Tennessee and Seattle (both are still unbeaten), but yesterday at home against a hapless Falcons team that just canned their coach is completely unacceptable.

Can anybody explain the logic in trading Ngakoue for much worse picks than what we paid for him just a few months ago? Our 2nd rounder is looking to be a top 5 pick right now!

I realize this is a lost season, but how does a GM keep their job with moves like this? This move rivals the FG kicker we gave a 5th round pick for and then cut him a week later…I believe that too was a trade with Baltimore right?

Do the Ravens have compromising photos of Speilman they are holding over his head )

Ngakoue will be a FA at the end of the year. They save $5M or so and get two draft picks back in return. Getting less for him makes sense since the season is 1/3 done already. I’m a Packer fan, but it seems likes MN did ok since their season is done.

Totally agree! I think Rick has done an above average job (Diggs, Thielen, Hunter among others), but his inability to build a competent offensive line and the teams current state have me at the end of the rope with him. This move is the straw that broke the camels back imo, basically traded a top of the 2nd rounder for a bottom of the 3rd!

Hey Spielman is a genius, just ask the people in Miami what they thought of him.

I very seldom am right with my sports takes but I was dead on with this guy. He destroyed Miami and he has done a C- job here at best.

But, there is a upside…….they won’t lose this weekend, thats a lock, bet the house on it. grin

Let the Purge begin. Now lets continue with getting rid of the GM and the Coach next – Follow that up with Cousins and the Vikings will be headed in the right direct for the 1st time in a long time.

A bye is about the only way this team can avoid a loss these days. I’ll start the chant “1-15 baby 1-15”

I think the trade actually makes a lot sense. They traded for Ngakoue because they thought they could compete this season and needed to replace Griffin. Now after a 1-5 start the chances to compete are basically gone. So why not trade the guy, get something for him now, rather than let him walk at the end of this bad season and save some money?

I just don’t see the logic in trading a 2nd round pick for a 1 season rental though…they must have thought about giving him a contract extension before they gave up the 2nd round pick..what changed? NFL Draft picks are like gold, no good GM willingly takes a value loss like that…I’m guessing there is something else we don’t know, maybe he’s a cancer in the lockeroom?
