The crowd noise is really getting to Cousins today
people underestimate how raucous cardboard fans can be!
Cousins-3 picks, 11 completions for a qb rating of (drumroll) 15.
Vikings look lost is right. Record for teams that start 0-2 making playoffs isn’t good.
Our offense looks outdated. Our o-line isn’t protecting all that well and we all know cousins doesn’t have good pocket awareness and has a tendency to hold the ball. Why are we running play action when the run game isn’t even effective and our routes are long developing. With our line and our quarterbacks pocket issues we should be running a spread put quick passing offense. Cousins is very accurate. We could run an offense like NE was running with brady
IMO the coaching is terrible. Revolving door to the OC office. Kirk seems disinterested, maybe he needs the crowd, who knows. No Hunter or Griffin. Maybe I’m alone but I wish we still had Wayne’s, the grass isn’t always greener.
Side note-Diggs 8 catches for 152 & a td.
On a not so serious note…..Paul Allen sounds like somebody shot his dog while doing these games. I understand he knows who signs his paycheck but really…..
On a serious note….Why does nobody take Zimmer & Spielman to task? They are the guys who assembled and watch over this clown show.
I’d guess they are staring at 0-3 after next week.
The Vikings were hit by the dreaded salary cap monster at the wrong time. Quite a few key contracts came due right when they were becoming a consistently tough team with playoff potential. The problem with stringing a few good seasons together is that everyone’s self worth is immensely inflated. Everyone was hungry, but there’s only so much cash to go around. Some that they’ve paid have been worth it, while others not so much. Everson, Waynes, Rhodes, Linval, Diggs are all gone.
Some of the Biggest Team Contracts:
Cousins $33 million
Hunter $14.5 million
Theilen $16 million
Barr $13.5 million
Ngakoue $12.5 million
Reiff $11.75 million
Rudolph $9 million
Harris $11.5 million
Cook $12.6 million
Kendricks $10 million
Smith $10.25 million
Of those, quite a few are paid well beyond their analytical value. Reiff, Harris, Barr, and Cousins for sure. Rudolph needs to have another good year to make that contract worth while. Theilen has to stay healthy and productive to stay in the conversation with league wide #1 WRs. each year. Ngakoue needs to be more than a speedy edge rusher who leaves gaping holes on every off tackle run.
I’d predict they end the season 8-8 or 9-7.
Well, I’m not entirely buying what you are selling. Every team gets hit with the salary cap. I have never been a Spielman fan and his inability to get anything that resembles a NFL offensive line reinforces that thought.
Zimmers defense was shredded again today. Again a quarterback who can’t move ate them alive.
They were outcoached in both games on both sides of the ball. Now you can blame either Zimmer or Spielman for that but the fact is they are getting schooled week in & week out.
This coming from a guy who really doesn’t care if the Vikings win or lose.

I know it is getting to me. The piped in fan noise is ridiculous and annoying.
Good game guys.
After a rough start the guy’s really need to dig deep, it’s gutcheck time. The guys need to execute, there’s no quitting on this squad and we truly believe our best ball is yet to come.
I threw up in my mouth twice while typing that.
Horrible effort. They looked totally disinterested across the board.

🤣
Only 11% of NFL teams that start 0-2 go on to make the playoffs.
I didn’t mind Zimmer getting an extension. I also wouldn’t have minded it had they waited until the end of the season to re-up. I’d still take Keenum over Cousins but at this point he really was the best option. He’s a middle of the pack QB that can put up gaudy numbers but lacks the clutch gene, but so did Joe Flacco for his entire career except the one post season he caught fire and won a ring. Cousins is on the level of Flacco and that sort of upside is extremely unlikely but it does exist, which means he’s better than all other available options.
Spielman sucks and has always sucked. Any one of us could draft a couple decent starters every year when the coach is heavily weighing in on what he wants and if you’re always willing to trade back into the first round. Using the 12th pick overall to reach up for a QB that every other team had as a late second rounder or lower, and having that player be a bust should ALWAYS get a GM fired without exception. Spielman should have been sent packing alongside Ponder. They should have been escorted out of the building and walked out the same door together before it slammed shut behind them.
.
How will Paul Allen spin this one??
No pre-season games disproportionately affected the Vikings for whatever reason of his choosing.
Dallas had an exciting finish yesterday with the field goal with a couple seconds left and tied. Kansas City was a great game, that what I saw of it. Seattle too was a great finish especially the way they upended Newton trying to bull his way in with 3 seconds left. The Vikes? Same old, same old.
Poor Anthony Barr. My heart truly goes out to him.
We saw game 1 with him.
Saw game 2 without him.
The rest of the season is going to look like game 1 & 2 so he might as well get it fixed now and be ready for next year.
Cousins with a QBR of 15. How did he deserve the 15? How can you do any worse than that?!
I bleed purple, but 2020 is looking rough.
Poor Anthony Barr. My heart truly goes out to him.
That made me literally LOL BigPike!
Going to be a long year, and since I don’t have anything nice to say about the purple right now, I’ll just end it there.
I’d think week 1 without any preseason games heavily favors the Vikings. Defenses are always “ahead” early in the year even with preseason games. The scheme of defense and a whole lot of running the ball should play into the Vikings’ favor heavily for the first few weeks.
Outside of Adams, Rodgers is throwing to a bunch of special teams and practice squad WRs.
Vikings 24, Packers 17.
Vikings win the division, Packers sneak in as a Wildcard. Both go nowhere in the playoffs.
Just curious if you have any further predictions?

Ooofda. I was off. Never in a million years did I comprehend how terrible their offensive line was, or how their defensive line quickly became a weakness versus strength of years’ past.
The sky still isn’t falling in Minnesota. They aren’t a superbowl caliber team. They never were. However, this team still can get to 8-8 or 9-7.
I’m a bit disappointed in the Vikings performance today.
I’m not. I just won $100! Yesterday I bet 2 guys 50 each, that Titans(Gostkowski) win with a late or walk off field goal. I was feeling lucky…..
I’m sure they will make a few adjustments and be back on top next week. Hahaha
