Holy sh!tshow. It’s not a good thing when the defense is on the field for 43 hours in the first half.

You’d think that they would make an attempt to cover Davante Adams after he eclipsed the 100 yd/TD mark. The secondary is gonna need some serious work.

It’s very early. Seasons are rarely decided in one week.

    My Pointless Thoughts:

-Rodgers is still one of the best QBs in the league. Outside of Adams, his WRs are a bunch of guys who would be special teamers on most solid teams. Imagine if he had multiple top notch weapons like some QBs have.

-The Vikings DL is not a fearsome unit like it once was. Hunter is a sack machine who is missed and the new guy has some good burst and edge moves. However, it’s going to be a very mediocre unit against the run.

-The Vikings secondary was struggling but doesn’t deserve all the blame. They pay a lot of guys to get after the QB that didn’t perform. The corners will get a lot better as the year progress. Anthony Harris blew the 2-Man coverage on the Scantling TD. The television and casual fan did not show the true picture of that responsibility and immediately referenced the youth of the CB.

-The Packers are not deep. Both starting guards and their pro bowl DT are down and will miss some time. It’s a long season to lose guys week 1. NFL coordinators will exploit these new weaknesses each week.

-The Vikings will be a force running the ball all season. Nothing has changed here and they have a great match of personel and talent to run their zone schemes.

-Both of these teams will have similar records with 9-11 wins.

When did football start? I thought baseball started before football? Has that started also?

    Love the endzone printing

What I find ironic is that there is “End Racism” printed right behind the endzone but in bigger letters in the endzone it says “CHIEFS”

What about Indians or Blackhawks? Certainly there is some native American association with those if not Chiefs.

I’m not personally offended by any of them myself but if they’re going to do this then they need to do ALL of it. Not cherry pick some and leave others. Doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of consistency to it.

Good qb vs inexperienced corners = disaster for the defense. Other than a few long throws he nickel & dimed us to death. My only question is why don’t we throw the quick outs?

Not the point. Every major sports league is doing the same thing. Regardless, I’ll keep it to the Vikings now because that is the title of the thread.

Terrible game for the Vikings. Sure they were missing Hunter, but I’m a bit concerned since they have hired Dom Capers. No idea why they hired him or how much impact he has, but the packers defense sucked in recent years when he was there.

I think the vikings also under estimated the impact of not keeping Josh Kline. Cousins was running for his life the whole game, just like 2018 when they sucked and missed the playoffs.

    Black Hawk –

Black Hawk, born Ma-ka-tai-me-she-kia-kiak, was a band leader and warrior of the Sauk Native American tribe in what is now the Midwest of the United States. Although he had inherited an important historic sacred bundle from his father, he was not a hereditary civil chief.

Their logo is virtually identical to the logo that the North Dakota Fighting Sioux used to have for many, many years. So why is that one prohibited but the Blackhawks one is still ok? Again, I’m not against keeping it. It doesn’t offend me. The point I’m trying to make is that there is no consistency amongst these “racist” logos and mascots and team names. Some are fine but some aren’t? A Chief is a Redskin is a Blackhawk is a Sioux is an Indian. Seems pretty similar to me.

Well not entirely true of the origin of the team name, but back to the Vikings thread and please if want to carry this side of it on start a new thread. Or resurect the the old one.

Vikes were terrible yesterday. They have some work to do.

Completely agree. Home field “advantage” is only going to be a minimal advantage (if any) as long as there aren’t any fans. Not just at the Bank, but others too.

First time in A lot of years that I didn’t even turn a football game on TV. I listened to most of the 1st half on my way home from fishing – Went back out fishing as soon as I got home. I’m not sure if I will even bother to watch a football game this season. Sounds like I didn’t miss anything good in the Vikings game. I keep hearing from the Radio crew how make shift and poor the Packers O-line was and how crappy their receivers were and yet they Beat the Vikings and controlled the time of Possession big time. If their Line and receivers are really that poor then the Vikings are in a lot of trouble this season !!!

I didnt watch a single second of the Vikes game, or any game yet for that matter. I went and walked around the hunting property instead. Im pretty sure my Monday was a lot better by not watching. Having a hard time getting into it.

Put that energy and passion towards ending RACISM and we’ll get somewhere.

Hopefully, this loss has the same effect on the team that losing the Opener on Monday Night Football vs the 49ers back in 2015 had. Not having Hunter for the game was a huge break for the Pack. Getting the Vikes in the Opener with no pre-season was a huge break for the Pack. I would have liked for our young secondary to have a few games under their belt before having to deal with Rodgers. But it is what it is.

Packers had no preseason either, right of the Packer offensive line were backup players, huge break foe the Queens…… I think Queen’s secondary was practicing social distancing. hah

They look absolutely abysmal today. Second straight game giving up a safety.
Last year 1/3 of the passes Cousins threw were play action. The average gain was 9.7 yards with a qb rating of 130. Against the Pack they didn’t run a PA until the 4th quarter, a 37 yard td to Thielen.

    They look lost.

    For what it’s worth there’s a thread regarding mascots,team names etc…
It’d be nice to just stay on track here.
