Grouse,
I’m already looking past the Aint’s this Sunday and Atlanta will beat the Philly.January 8, 2018 at 11:43 am #1742219#1742192

January 8, 2018 at 11:47 am #1742221Eel, you going to load the box to stop the run and let Brees go wild or going to play coverage and let the Saints run?
Pick your poison. Unless the Vikings can get some turnovers this will be a tough tough game. Can the Vikings put up 24 points on offense?
January 8, 2018 at 11:49 am #1742222While it’s great to see the purple with the number two seed, let’s face it, they have a 55+ year history of choking. I’m excited for Sunday but remain cautiously optimistic. Brees has a ring and Keenum is facing his first playoff game.
Having said that…Vikes by 10!!!
January 8, 2018 at 12:35 pm #1742235I am actually hoping the Vikes can pull it off, but the way Brees can pick apart a defense is something else…

we have this guy named Xavier Rhodes. Not sure if you’ve heard of him. Also have a fella named Harrison Smith. Lets not forget Mike Zimmer who is a brilliant defensive coach. This will be a tough game but don’t act like the Vikings are up a creek by just stepping on the field. Drew Brees has some reasons of his own to stay up at night and they come in the form of Purple and Gold.
I don’t want to cast a prediction for this game. The Saints looked great last week and Case hasn’t looked as sharp the last few weeks as he did earlier in the year. That being said home field advantage is big. Im just going to sit back and enjoy the moment. Should be a good matchup
January 8, 2018 at 12:38 pm #1742238What’s your prediction Dutch?
21-20 Vikings.
Saints miss wide right from 28 1/2 yards as time expires.Hows that?
SW EyesPosts: 211January 8, 2018 at 12:41 pm #17422408 is waaay too much for how the Saints have been playing.
I’m pretty worried about the game, myself. Bad feeling. I have zero confidence that Keenum is going to play well enough to win any postseason game. As good as our defense has been, we’re going to have to score some points to win.
January 8, 2018 at 12:44 pm #1742246What’s the significance of 28 1/2 yards?
It’s the distance he misses from.
January 8, 2018 at 12:58 pm #1742251If Eelpoutguy the Greek says by 8, you can take it to the bank.
Check Drew Breess’ away record. He stinks on the road.

I don’t know if stinks is the right word its pretty much identical.

January 8, 2018 at 1:54 pm #1742276I thought the line was 4
I was actually thinking that’s a good prediction.
January 8, 2018 at 2:02 pm #1742280That would be nice…. I do believe they will win. Our defense matches up good with their game and their defense has yet to see Case…
January 8, 2018 at 2:31 pm #1742291It’s good to be modest EPG, don’t let these Debbie downer’s get to ya! Rhodes will shut down Brees’ #1 target Thomas, the Saints O-Line is banged up, and Zimmer should have no problem shutting down their running game. Kamara is an X factor, but not enough to win imo. The Saints D gives up plenty, and Zimmer led teams are nearly unbeatable if we put up over 21 especially at home. Vikes are rested and ready, and we win easily 35-17.
January 8, 2018 at 2:35 pm #1742293Question is can the Vikings show up to play Playoff Football? I think the Saints matchup is the tougher of the two potential playoff games, so can the Vikings make the transition to playing playoff football with very few mistakes.
This is not like playing the Packers or the Bears where the Vikes could basically score 10 and send the offense home with the D just gently holding back a limp offense that can’t find its butt with both hands.
As good as our defense is, we have to keep Brees & Company off the field. We need long, sustained drives that end in points. 1 series or 2 series and out is going to give Brees too many chances and we won’t stop them all. We can’t win a toe-to-toe touchdown battle with the Saints. We need possession.
Hate to say it boys and girls, but I can honestly see a scenario where the Vikes let them hang around too long without enough O production when we have the ball. I think we need to get in the endzone 3 times or it’s a loss. It won’t be the D that lets us down, I’m just afraid our offense won’t be able to play under pressure and when every mistake counts.
Saints 24, Vikes 17

CaptainMuskyPosts: 22626January 8, 2018 at 3:20 pm #1742309I’m not going to make a prediction. I’m not going to get overly excited. I am not as old as some of you here, but I suffered through ’98, 41 donut and ’09 which is painful enough for me to not get overly excited. They have always let me down.
I will however enjoy the ride as long as it lasts. Our defense is legit. Like others have said, I don’t have too many worries there, its just whether or not the offense can do enough.
The one thing our offense has done well is not turn the ball over. Our defense has played like 100 fewer plays than our offense. That is a good sign that our D personnel will not be worn down.January 8, 2018 at 3:42 pm #1742317If (and yes, I said “if”) the vikes lose, IDO will be getting a TON of traffic around 7 pm Sunday night…
January 8, 2018 at 4:00 pm #1742322Crappie, i’m talking past few seasons. Heck, Tampa beat them in game 16 and that was an important game.
There best O lineman is out with a busted leg, Brees yeah he’s accurate, but it’s hard to throw the ball when you’re on your back.
The Saints D? Lets go for it on 4th and 2 at the 50 with a few seconds left in the game. BAHAHAHA. Coach has a lot of confidence in those guys.
Jynx – What the hell is that? This is a new stadium, new coach. new team. No such thing as Jinx.
As previously stated, all are welcome at the parade. We don’t care if you jump on the bandwagon after they hoist the trophy. We’re not here to judge.
Insert “Vikings Super Bowl Trophy” emoji here.January 8, 2018 at 4:14 pm #1742326There best O lineman is out with a busted leg
this will have a huge impact on the game!!! Im excited to watch it but also nervous being a lifelong Vikings fan. im going to try to push through that natural feeling though and just enjoy the moment and believe in the team. The 09 team was very good but in some ways I think this team is built better for the playoffs and they have a way better coaching staff this time around.
Im not looking too far into the future but I think the Vikings have a great foundation to build upon. Man if we could snag Kirk Cousins or Alex Smith next offseason I think we would be a super bowl contender for the next 5 years

The minute they lose, your right… the cheese weiner fingers are waiting to start typing again.. since they have nothing to type about their team in the playoffs. I thought we had good teams in 98 and 09, but I “know” we have a good team this year. Question is, is it good enough ? Was talking with my brother the other day and with Rhodes, we can contain most offenses… can he cover Gronk ?
January 8, 2018 at 5:43 pm #1742352can he cover Gronk ?
he wouldn’t be asked to but a combo of Barr/Kendricks/Smith can
