Viewing and Sorting Trail Cam Pics – What software?

I’d say I average about 1000 trail cam pics a week from the fleet of trail cams on my property. What viewing software programs do you guys use and find to work best?

Specifically, I’d like a couple of things that just using

    1. I’d like to be able to view about 6 images on the screen at once and then hit a key and go to the next 6, etc. Not have to flick through each image, full size, one at a time.

    2. When viewing the pics, I’d love to be able to just select pics, press one button to delete the pics, and be done. Without having to do the “are you sure…” confirmation message so that each delete is a 2-step time consuming process.

I’m not looking for trail-cam specific software packages, there are so many ways to use the various image software that’s on most computers that I’m hoping this is simply a matter of knowing which represents a better fit with what I’m trying to do.

Windows Photo Viewer is ok, but it’s one picture at a time and the delete is a 2 step process.

Just viewing them in File Explorer as extra large icons is ok, but the picture size is still a little smaller than I’d like.

Anything else anyone has tried that works especially well?

    Great question!

Fortunate enough to have a 22 year old kid who’s a wiz on computers and a brother in-law that’s a computer guy. Plus have a buddy who’s brother is another computer guy who runs his own computer business. I’ve yet to get anything substantially game changing out of any of them for sifting through the mountains of tcam pics and videos. One buddy doesn’t do anything but videos and I’m slowly going all in on videos. It’s less volume than pics, so that makes it a touch easier. I started on 35mm tcams and am a fairly slow learner on computer programs and software. They all show me and tell me ways of doing it better but I’m pretty dumb. It takes multiple times for their language and what they are doing to sink into my thick skull. It’s so time consuming it’s easy to waste hours going through stuff one at a time. Put in upgrading eleven tcams to 16GB SD cards and it’s un-nerving to have have to sort through all the pic/videos. One friend has 8 tcams and he refuses to buy anymore. For what I’m doing 11 is fun but exhausting at times to keep track of. Last weekend checking them my brother in law was with and helped a ton. I bring an old laptop with and cut and paste everything in the field, reformat every card before putting it back in. And try to go through all of them right away. It seems if I wait, I end up with an incredibly amount to go through and is problematic to get done.

Hoping someone chimes in with something simple, easy and effective at eliminating the hassles involved with the process that my pea sized neanderthal brain can comprehend and doesn’t involve buying some program for $500.
