I know its over but I got a lead from Jason Mitchel’s FB page about Vexilar Labor day Sale this Saturday while sitting on the lake. Vexilar 50% off and the FLX-30BB marked down from $749 to $249. Took awhile to order on my phone because the spotty service where I was. But sweet deal. Do not know if it was a Misprint or what. Anyone else order anything? They had ice suits half price also Lithium batteries half off. Getting excided for early ice now LOL

Still available in store only until the end of the day!
It was a good sale, definitely not a misprint, all over vexilar social media and fishing guys sharing it. Clearing out flx30 stock for its replacement, flx38. whistling

The $500 fleet farm sale for the flx30 pro pack lithium last year was the one to beat until now.

I couldn’t resist yesterday, that was a great deal. I ordered an flx30bb, pro pack II case. 9ah battery, and new charger and it came to $404.

The kids new vex showed up today. Solid 250 bucks spent there. Now to decide if I put it on a pro pack or genz box or build him something

I see why the 30 was being sold off. Making room for the 38

Dude I just got the 28 a couple years ago. Honestly I’m not sure how much more they can do with these flashers, what other features are we really looking for? Still have my 18 and it works great.

in 2002 I bought a used Vexilar 8 and still have it to this day. I have not upgraded since. My son is now 8 so I may need to add another one to our arsenal.

Ok from the 8 there has been many advancements. Grab a deal on the 28 or 30. The display is great, the zoom I use a lot. Or look for used 18’s they are the 8 but with the zoom feature. Then the kid can use the 8.

Zoom + Flat screen with the brushless FLX series is about the extent of the advancements I’d ever use or pay for with Vexilars.

They can keep adding new cool features and upping the price, but if I’m going the flasher route it’s because of their durability…reliability…and simplicity.

If I upgraded I might have to take a beginner’s class. LOL. I should of grabbed one of these missed it as I was camping.

Small advancements year over year and heavy marketing to drive sales. What else do you do in a rather saturated marketplace ?

Mostly true in many the outdoor recreation businesses.

Honestly if you understand the 8 it will not be that hard to adapt just a couple features to play with. You will love the difference in the display crispness.

Vexilar is just trying to stay alive as a company and come out with small new features.. Sadly the brand so famously linked to ice fishing may be on it’s way out- if looking at the long term picture.

I’ll always have a flasher. I’m not a live scope guy especially for regular fishing when I know the fish are around. Tried the live scope thing. Was OK then got old.

Flashers are great for ice fishing, but too many features can create the inherent desire to spend time “dinking” around with unit vs. watching your rod tip … sometimes the tip moves up … set the hook … fish on.

I primarily use Vexilars for sonar, but I don’t have much of an appetite for a 38. The adjustable zoom is nice, but the great thing about a flasher is its simplicity. There seems to be an added complexity to using this.
