I fish in water about 10 to 30 feet deep in minnesota and i was wondering which one i should choose for this depth of water. i didnt see much of a price difference in the 2.
I would go with the fl-18. The fl-18 has the low power mode to make it easier to fish shallow water and also it does have the bottom zoom which lets you zoom in on the bottom six feet of the water column.

Does the FL-18 also have higher resolution than the FL12? That’s worth it if it does.
I was thinking the FL-18 but I wasn’t quite sure which one was better. It says it comes with the 12 degree ducer but I would rather have the 19 because I belive the 19 degree ducer is better for water depths up to 30 ft (I never fish over 25 ft). I think they have the same resolution but I’m not exactly sure.
I fished side by side with my fl12 with a friend with a fl28. The 28 will be my next unit!! The resolution was uncanny good. No confusing scales to deal with with the digital depth.
