Vex Tri-beam ducer help needed

Been having random problems and figured it out last night. Have a kink in the line where the cord comes into the ducer. This means it’s cockeyed when in the hole. Probably my fault for how I stored it over the off season.

Two parts, can I fix this? Maybe hanging it with weight on the cord so it will straighten over time? Will this possibly damage it? Massaged the cord and got it to be better. Better helps but not good enough.

Second, still have my old fl8 for years with the smaller profile ducer, never any problems. Seems the cord is a bit more flexible as well. Am I better off replacing it? I love the ability to switch cone angles but this is my third tri-beam. First two replaced free for warranty and now this. When it’s working it’s absolutely awesome! However I’ve had more time with issues than when functioning as designed.

Call Vexilar and they will tell you what to do and if it can be fixed. They have the best customer service in the business……IMHO!

I’d try hanging it to see if it straightens it out. It won’t cause any more issues than you already have by the sounds of it. My guess is it’ll straightened it out just fine. We have to do it with our underwater camera cord all the time. In the meantime I’d say just us the FL8 transducer and give vexilar a call. You’ve experienced their great customer service by the sounds of it and I’m sure they’ll help you out once again.

This is a short term option. However there’s two challenges. That’s one is a 20 degree cone. Pretty wide for hunting walleye on steep breaks. Second, I need my FL8 to share with some cabin guests coming up in a couple weeks.

Roger that, I’ve been super impressed with their customer service in the past! Thought I would try here first out of habit.

I just took a buddy of mine to the Vex place in Bloomington, he was having issues with his tri beam, they just took it off and replaced it with a Pro view…
I thought that was odd that they didn’t give him another tribeam, makes me wonder if they are phasing them out or trying to get rid of pro-views.., weird..
