I have an fl18 with the pro PAC which includes the battery power indicator
    Battery is good
After putting a full charge on it and then use it on the ice the indicator goes from 100% down to 60% the down to recharge rather quickly
The unit however continues to run fine for hours after that
Just wondering if the indicator meter is shot or possibly just has a weak connection inside the pac?

Anybody else have this problem with a solution to recommend?

How old is the Battery? To me it reads as the battery is going bad unles you are able to run for say 2 day on a single charge. A battery will also lose some charge just from the cold, If it was me I would just make sure to charge the batt after it warms up, and you might get more time out of it.

You should be able to remove the screws on the bottom of the unit to get to the battery to check the connections.

Battery is 2 years old and was topped off during the off season

check the wires to the indicator. I had a similar issue and it was corrosion on a wire from melt.

Check the battery with a voltmeter when the lights indicated it’s low…
It’s the only way to know what the actual charge is…

I myself do not trust these indicators…IE: my Marcum charger never turns green….but the battery is fully charged according to the voltmeter….

I agree with not trusting the indicator. Mine acts odd as well, always has. If you have questions on it, you can also call Vex, their customer service was always really helpful at times in the past when I had questions.

My batter indicator appears to have gone bad this year. I’ll have to check my cables and put a volt meter.

Indicator reads zero and can run for 20 hours inside the house after. Doesn’t read accurately when charging. All components were purchased spring of 2012. Battery still has over 30 hours of charge in the living room. Batter indicator doesn’t move up or down in a logical fashion.

Mine has never really worked right on my 18. I quit looking at it years ago.

My FL-20 battery was topped off before I put it away last season.

This season it still showed 100% however it wouldn’t power the flasher or camera.

A Vex tech responded quickly to my email and we determined my battery was bad.

I grabbed a 12V 7A battery I use in my kayak for the Lowrance and it worked no problem. My gut says your battery may be going….then again a simple percentage monitor could certainly be wrong too.
