How has the walleye bite been? What methods are working? Leech or minnow? And also what depths to look for?

    I appreciate any feedback!
    Thanks.

    walleyeguy34:

Take a look at this page and see if any of the guides are writing any reports from the lake… I know that Jarek Wutkowski does, just don’t know if he’s written anything lately… I would also suggest: http://anglingbuzz.com/ they do a lot to promote Lake V.

Good Luck, I would be looking at the bottom of the break and the tops of the humps for fish…

Keep an eye out here –

    Vermilion, Lake

I was up last weekend. Hit the tail end of a 3-4 day massive cold front so fish were pretty tight lipped until Saturday night which was still slow. Only one short walleye for me Friday, a 23″ throw back Saturday evening on a big chub lindy in 9′ by the weedlines. This was on the far west end going out of Pehrson’s.

The consensus was deeper water, 28′ +/-, bottom of breaks or if on the east end on mud flats, dragging minnows either lindy or bottom bouncer.

I did get northerns trolling flicker shads, mostly on points.

Buddy of mine the weekend before limited 3 days in a row on east end flats dragging minnows with bottom bouncers. Life of Riley resort had a private tourney and they had guys limit out with lindy rig minnows in deeper water, even in the middle of the cold front.

After the time I spent, the fish I marked, on the west end I’d work rock humps in in deeper water in the day and weed edges early morning and evening.
