VERIFY YOUR EMAIL PLEASE

Our email host has put the site on their watch list because of to many bounced emails. Unfortunately the notifications are on by default and there’s just lots of people with email addresses that appear to not work. Please go to your profile > settings and update your email if it is no longer current. Also, you can turn off email notifications from your profile > settings > email location. If your settings are already off then I probably turned them off to avoid the bounces.

    Thanks!

Thanks! If your email is valid you can turn those on if you want but if your email is not valid please turn them off. But you may also want set a valid email anyhow just in case you need to get access to your account later. (lost password sending)

What about an external SMTP hosting provider?

We’re using an external SMTP hosting provider. They monitor bounce rates to make sure those they’re hosting aren’t spammers. (not looking good for us right now) lol (

They particularly hate when several emails bounce back from the same domain. It looks like you are fishing for email addresses I.E. [email protected], [email protected], etc

I had to keep our company off of spam lists for several months.

    It was a challenge.

What’s worse is that there are email addresses which are valid yet they bounce our mail when sent to them. I forget who but there was someone here for which I could send an email to directly but the site’s email would bounce. Email is a pain. lol

When I go to my profile I find settings and email but not email location. I do find the email notification page, my email is current and all the notifications are turned on but I no logger get the email notifications.

@StevePlantz – I just switched us over to SendGrid. Hopefully this makes it to you!

I still have the server updates to take care of tonight but the smtp host change for email is done.

If your password is strong you’ll be good to go here but please don’t use your banking passwords anywhere else other than your banking sites. As far as your email address goes only you and the admins can see it.

Also, don’t use any of these passwords. lol

Thanks guys – just bumping this so it’s fresh again.

We do not send out spam email – ever.

If anyone does not want to receive the email notifications from here please update your Profile > Settings > Email preferences to turn them off. Thanks!

Just a note – don’t unsubscribe from the emails if you still want to be able to receive emails for things such as password recovery or even using the contact form for account recovery help at a later date. It is better to turn off email notifications by going to your Profile > Settings > Email and set all options to “no”.

I’m looking to see if there is a way to add a user back after they have unsubscribed. (if it’s even possible)

For anyone avoiding updating their email because you need to enter your current password I have removed that need. It should be much easier now to update your email address. Please do so if it is out of date. Thanks!

I tried to change my email, but I didn’t get a verification email to the old one.

@slipperybob – I changed your email manually – you should be good to go now. (not sure why the verification didn’t send)
