Verado L4 Prop Recommendation

    I have a Lund Pro V Bass 1875 w/ a Mercury Verado L4 200HP. I currently have a Tempest Plus 3 blade
21P prop on it. Hole shot and top speed (52mph) are good. RPM’s are low (5400) at top speed though. My
problem is in rough conditions on The Great Lakes when you have to run in that 12-15mph zone it doesn’t
want to stay on plane and rides bow up. Problem is really bad if live wells are full or I have two adults in the rear jump seats. I would like to go to a 4 blade stern lifting prop. Does anyone run a similar setup that could recommend which prop would be best? Thanks in advance!

My main question is if your fishing the Great Lakes, why do it in an aluminum bass boat? Why not get a deep v boat that’s made for rough seas?

Because I fish inland lakes and trailer the boat all over Michigan for multiple species. But thanks for your concern.

You may want to invest in a set of trim tabs to keep the front down and allow to run slower on plane. It can also be done with a jack plate, but trim tabs would do a better job. That prop also has quite a bit of bow lift making the situation worse. If you have any of the venting plugs open it would be wise to plug them as well to prevent any prop slip.
