Where can a guy get a window scraper that isn’t a POS? Every window scraper I get is not flush against the window so I have to go over the same spot 10 times.

Good post! So it’s not just me… I’m curious what people will say.

I used to have an old one with a brass blade. I remember it ripping off ice like no other. What I don’t remember is if it put scratches in my windshield at the same time??
Anyone else use a brass bladed scraper?

With remote start and windshield washer fluid, I haven’t scraped a window in years. I leave the fan on high and max heat on defrost before I get out of the car each time.

I have been running the same scraper for about 8 years it is old and wore out I found it in my grandfather’s garage when he passed away. It says union carbide on it and has a 5 inch wide brass blade. The thing just works it has some give to it but it forms to the windows nice. The cl industries ones look similar to this

I found one somewhere- no idea the brand but made in USA printed on it. It’s been good for a couple of years now. I hear good things about the snow joe(?) ice broom. One of those things where I won’t consider something new until this one breaks.

Some auto body purists cringe at the thought, but I also had bought a push broom from menards for $15 and reserved it only for cleaning off my truck. Regardless of the snowfall my truck would be free of snow within about 2 minutes. I ended up using it on the garage floor a few times so no go on the truck paint anymore, but those Libman push brooms are cheap I might go grab another now that you’ve got me thinking about it. Of course this won’t scrape ice, but once the snow cover is off the defrost can melt the ice pretty fast.

On my daily driver truck and the wife’s jeep, we just leave the defroster on high and utilize the remote start if they’re parked outside. For a couple old trucks around the buildings we just have crappy old scrapers that have the same issues you are describing. I did see a couple people running these “scrape-a-round” devices and if reach isn’t an issue, these things seemed extremely efficient and simple.

    On a separate note:

The big foam ones with the extension handle are great for clearing snow. It’s my pet peeve seeing people with perfectly clear windshields and 10″ of powdered snow coming off the top of their vehicle going through town flying onto my windshield.

This one has worked well for us. Had one for at least 7 years(still works great) and just got another one for another vehicle. Telescopes to 60″ and the brush head flips around and makes pulling snow off the roof a piece of cake.
