Our Scheels has a wonderful supply of pre-formed vacuum bags in pint, quart and gallon sizes and in those sizes with a zip open feature.

I just picked up a couple boxes of 50 of the pint size @ $9.99 each and a box of 50 in the quart size @ $14.99. I can’t buy equivalent in bag material rolls for what I paid today for finished bags.

    Tom,
How well do those bags hold a seal over time? I purchased 200 quart bags for $26.99 but they are a standard 8X12 bag pre-sealed on one end. I’m a bit leery of a “ziplock” feature but maybe I’m just overly cautious or cautious without cause.

The ones I purchased were; Nutri-Lock Vacuum Sealer Bags. 200 Quart Bags 8×12 Inch. Commercial Grade Food Sealer Bags. Been using them for a couple years now and they are a good quality bag.

I’ve tried other bags and have had good luck. These are Scheels branded so if they are not decent bags they’ll go back. I opened a box of the pint bags and they are fairly heavy, not the most heavy I have used.

I’m doing one last batch of spaghetti sauce this weekend and I bag and freeze it so we’ll see how well they do. The sauce I put into regular freezer zip locks and get all the air out and freeze them laying flat. When solid I slip the zip lock and all into a vacuum bag and vacuum seal it.

If these work fine, then I’m ahead of the game. If they are junk then Scheels will have some more store stock.
