To add to the topic of UV Face protection. I found a outdoor clothing line that makes some great products for outdoor activity. Check out the line of products by Snikwah. http://www.snikwah.com/
Several of their products have a Buff built tight into the shirt. I have tried several of their shirts and can tell you they are every bit as good as advertised. I have used both the Original ( The Fish Camo is way cool ) and the hydro line. If you spend a lot of time out in the sun and heat do yourself a favor and check them out.

I bought a few Simms shirts this year and I suspect they are about the same as the brand you mentioned. They are very close in price too. I’ve been very happy with the performance and durability of their apparel.

But you can’t take the Buff part off and dip it in water?

I’m sure it’s a great product but as Pug mentioned it’s really nice to soak your Buff and then put it back on. Not so sure I’d like the whole shirt wet.

I also have a couple UA shirts that I have with the longer sleeves with the thumb holes and I’m not a huge fan of that either. For hunting or hiking it’s alright but I always feel uncomfortable when holding a rod and of you slide the sleeves up away from the hands they tend to bunch up too much. I know, I’m a picky son of a gun.

That fish camo pattern is pretty cool though. waytogo

They may not be for everyone. I liked them. They have several different styles. Some with Buffs and other without. Some with Thumb holes and some without. I’ve only seen 2 of the styles they carry. I may have to check out the Simms brand. do you know who locally carries them?

I remember when fishing and fishing marketing was about fishing gear, you know lures, tackle, boats. Now it’s about clothing.

I remember seeing “Huk Fishing” on the internet and never really paid close attention to it. I assumed they were a new tackle or boat manufactur or something. Saw they had a fishing show and decided to tune in I finally see what it was about.

I fishing show about fishing apparel marketing??? Really?

They may make some quality stuff, but that whole process ruined it for me.

It’s just another tool in the bag so to speak. I have sensitive skin and sunscreen lotion will make my skin feel hot and almost a burning feeling when applied. I also hate it when you sweat and it runs into your eyes, mouth, ect… The new sun protection gear is great for people like me that would like to use less lotions.

These shirts are comfortable as heck compared to the old heavy cotton shirts. The more comfortable you are the better your experience is going to be. This clothing is not for everyone but it works for me.

I hear what your saying though, I would have never thought there would be a fishing show that revolved around clothing. It’s all around us though if you look, and this website is no different i.e Snosuit, ProForce Gear, IDO hats/clothing. It’s a large part of the fishing and hunting revenue that’s generated so it won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

I understand. Don’t worry, I’ve got some Under Armour fishing gear and a Buff. I’m sure I’ll be getting some long sleeve UV shirts soon too, possibly Huk.

I actually feel a little guilty because my story is picking on them.
