Hey guys, just got a new to me boat. It came with a Helix 9 on the dash which is linked to a Terrova. I have a G2 Helix I use for ice fishing and am wondering if I can hook it up to the trolling motor transducer even if it isn’t a networked depth finder. I am new to all of this so any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Yes you can. You’ll need an adapter cable for the transducer connection. And a power cable to tap into your boat’s 12V wiring. May have to call HB to see how do this and maintain your Helix 9 connection at the same time.

Finished my install on Sunday of the same thing.

You can if, if your Terrova has a transducer built in. If yes, what kind US-2 or MDI? Anything a bit older is highly likely to have sonar and US2.

ex. My Terrova had US2(not Mega down imaging) and My Helix 7 did not have Down Imaging. So I needed an the mkr-us2-8 adapter cable to connect the Helix to Terrova for sonar. Then I needed a power cord for the Helix, PC10. One more item, some way to mount the Helix to the bow. I did a RAM mount but many options available.

If your Terrova or Helix has Down Imaging you may need a different adapter cable. Bird makes one for the new MDI Terrova units. Not sure if that is needed if both units don’t have DI

. It came with a Helix 9 on the dash which is linked to a Terrova.

Sorry, I missed one piece. How is this linked? Is it linked to get sonar or by an ethernet cable to get iPilot Lync data?

Also, what is the end game you’re trying to accomplish?

again, for me I only want my bow mount Helix to get the sonar readings from the Terrova. My dash Onix gets sonar from the transom mount transducer.

I just installed my Helix 7
to my Terrova . I used Huminnbird adapter I also have Helix 9 on Dash.
Has anyone noticed there battery percentage goes down quickly Like 47% to 40% on the Helix 7 .This is with about a hour of running. I just purchased a Brand new Interstate battery 24M-XHD.
When I get boat back into garage I plug in 3 bank charger and the battery that electronics are on show full charge.

Thanks for the help guys! I ordered the cable to connect to the Terrova. It has the standard transducer built in so it’s a perfect match. I had to run new power to the bow with inline fuses installed as well. Glad I am able to use this year round now instead of just hard water season.

Are you running anything else like livewells or stereo? I know that battery is a cranking not a deep cycle. Still that seems really low for only an hour in. Any chance you have a voltmeter and can get a reading directly off the battery?

Also at power cord to bow

    Helix 7 said it’s 72 %
