used bow mounted trolling motors

    I have been looking at used bow mounted trolling motors for my boat. specifically a 12 volt and im just curious as to see which brands or older models to stay away from? Thanks guys!

    Are you looking for a cable drive or electric steer?

    I did some research into this as well. Ended up with a 12v 50# maxuum from CL. Guy wanted $200, said it was taken, I offered $250 and meet the next day and had some minor issues with it that cost $50 at Fishtronics. Asked the fellow there on older TM and which were good ones, he said they all had their issues so just take a gamble.

    Maxuums have gotten pretty solid reviews on durability, hence the hefty initial costs on these things. Time will tell for myself but happy so far.

    Stay away from Minn Kota’s with this foot pedal. They seem to last about 2 seasons at most under normal use and cost $70-$100 to replace.
