Absolutely agree. I saw it live. I can understand what they’re feeling. A silver is definitely a disappointment but it is disrespectful to the game and to the other teams to act like that. I lose a lot of respect for someone who acts like that.

I THOUGHT that was what she did but could hardly believe it. I get the frustration of “losing to get a silver medal” unlike earning it in the more individual competitions but that doesn’t excuse an action like that.

Ill admit it’s better than not apologizing but what’s done is done. She acted like a baby in front of the world. She needs to do a lot more to gain that respect back.

It’s funny in today’s world with social media, everyone demands apologies for everything that people do now but it seems to have morphed into justification for doing anything people feel with very little accountability.

Oh. Well I guess there’s that. That makes it a little better.

totally sidetracking but does anyone else feel noawadays that they could make a million dollars being an apology writer and just sell your services to the myriad public figures who are constantly apologizing for things they did but “knew were wrong and they’re terribly sorry.”?…

I’ve done a lot of things I’m not proud of in the heat of the moment of athletic competition, I’m sure not going to criticize this woman for her actions immediately after losing a heartbreaker to their arch rivals. I rewatched it last night, and what an amazing game!

    ^°^ this

My coach led off or year end banquet when I was a senior saying, “I think this is the first time I coached a team where the kicker lead the team in penalty yatds”. For the record, my penalties were all when I was playing wide out.

No way. I grew up playing hockey ant it taught me respect. Respect for the other team, respect for the refs, tespect for your coaches and respect for your teammates. You shake hands after every game no matter how heated or disappointed you were. I never played on a big stage. W wn you are on the biggest stage you can be on you are a role model and you know it. You NEVR see nhl players doing anything remotely like that after losing in the Stanley cup finals.

If you are a Canadian you need to explain to your kids that’s unacceptable. For that reason it’s inexcusable.

What she did has affected me in… no way. Ignoring her is the best way to stop something like this happening again… they are watching us always.

I don’t care if she took a dump and wiped her butt with it.
