If Montreal in the S.C. final, 1st time in 28 years. 1st Canada team since Vancouver 2011 doesn’t loosen their grip. Not sure what it will take. Fishing is important. Hockey is religion. I can’t imagine the pressure to open The Bell Center beyond 10%. Some very powerful people watching it on tv. Hockey will be decided in 10 days, Fishing season lost soon. People loosing everything they’ve worked their whole lives for. Doesn’t seem to be a consideration. My business was idle for 6 months due to an accident. If not for some outside rental income.
It wouldn’t have survived to come back. Can’t imagine trying to survive 2 years with little or no income. We noticed a bunch of new houseboats on Rainy US side this year. My guess they were sublet from a Canadian operation. To someone on the US side. At one time I heard they may have a vaccination passport.

Exactly…. watching Vegas home games, PACKED with people… in Montreal… crickets. Not political at all. 99.96%… just facts… 100% political.

    We are Getting closer:

ORONTO – Pandemic restrictions on travel between Canada and the U.S. began to loosen Monday for some Canadians, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said plans to fully reopen the border would be announced over the next few weeks.

Canadian citizens and permanent residents who have had a full dose of a coronavirus vaccine approved for use in Canada can skip a 14-day quarantine that has been a requirement since March 2020. Eligible air travelers also no longer have to spend their first three days in the country at a government-approved hotel.

Restrictions barring all nonessential trips between Canada and the United States, including tourism, will remain in place until at least July 21.

Trudeau said the easing of the rules marks a “big step” toward reopening the border.

I’m still going with a Aug. 21st opening for Non essential Travel ( Including Fishing ) Possibly Sept. 21st at the latest. I know a fall trip will happen for me if it opens either date

I guess I don’t really see how loosening the restrictions for “some Canadians” really changes much.

Yep. Rescheduled for June 2022 back in May. I’m out until things get back to normal.

I never dreamed (nightmare) in my lifetime I would have the heart and soul of my fishing trip routine ripped away from myself and my family. It will make me cherish the moment I get back to my utopian island on my utopian lake in my utopian province and throw the first line back at fish who now have had 2 seasons of covid free fishing pressure. I can wait but I cant wait…..

I’m in that same boat. I’ve been planning a long camping trip with Dave Koonce and Gary Glawe to a remote corner of that lake that just keeps getting pushed further out. It will happen and when it does we’re going to savor every last minute of it!
