Anyone here have any experience with Urban Carry lock leather holsters. I probably should have posted this prior to ordering one, but I just placed a order this morning for one of the outside waist band ( OWB ) models. I liked the idea of the retention features on Kydex holsters, but think the comfort would be better with a Leather holster. This seems like the best of both worlds. I decided to go with the OWB because even though it may not conceal as well as a IWB one, I think I’m more likely to carry it often if more Comfortable. I just don’t think a IWB model will be comfortable for a chubby old man like me to wear. i also orders a Magazine holder with it. The offer the holster with the extra magazine holder built right into the holster but I likeed the idea of it being a separate item. Was a little concerned that the holster with the magazine holder would be a little large to fit between some bely loops on pants. Check them out and let me know your thoughts.

You can check them out at their website:

They have a short video on them.

FThumper, I’ve always disliked the molded plastics holsters with or without the lock. Somewhere around 15 years ago, I found this Bianchi holster with the lock and love it. Your finger slides naturally from the unlocking tab to the grip while your trigger finger falls right into the trigger guard.

It works very well for me and the Glock 26. Now if I could find something close to it for my XDs 45 I would be happy. I seldom carry the XDs because the safety strap gets in the way holstering or un-holstering the weapon.

I don’t have any experience with the Urban Carry holsters…I don’t think. You know a person goes though as many holsters as a diving rap guys does casting to rocks in the river.

PS Now that I see how they work AND they have one to fit the XDs, let me know how it works for you. I might have to check into one.

BK – I will let you know what I think of it once I get it, and have a chance to use it some. With all of the Carry permit holders here I thought I may have a chance to find someone who had some experience with it. It looks to be a rather new product. This one will be for my M&P shield. I’m going to go to the local range here to shoot a few different guns. I feel the desire for a new one. Got it narrowed down to about 4 or 5 and just need to shoot them to see what one feels and shoots the best to me.

Hey BK – What Gen. of the Glock 26 do you have? I have the Glock G43X on my current list of ones I’m going to shoot on my next visit to the range. looking at Glocks web site it looks like the 26 is slightly wider, Almost a inch shorter in the grip and 3 OZ heavier than the G43X. I would assume that with the slightly wider grip that the main difference is the 26 has a double stack magazine and the 43 may be a single stack. What I can figure out is why with a inch shorter height
( Grip ) it weighs 3 Oz. more.

I just received my new leather lock holster from Urban Carry and thought I would give a quick update on my thoughts on it. Keep in mind this is my first Holster of any type.
It seemed to be way more basic than I thought it would be. Not that its a bad thing.
It fit my handgun REALLY well.
The Tension clip works and secures the handgun REALLY well. The clip seemed a little tight at first but inserting and removing the gun a fair # of time it seemed to loosen up some. It is fully adjustable and I think I may have to adjust it after some use.
The footprint it made while wearing was almost nothing. My wife could not tell I had it on while wearing either a Tee shirt or Sweatshirt. For a OWB holster I was surprised about that.
The only negative thing I can say about it and this may be true for all / Most holsters is that it was slightly uncomfortable when seated. It was really comfortable while standing and walking but dug in some while seated. I believe that this may be better after some time of wearing it and finding the best spot to locate it. I’m sure my body type ( Fluffy headed towards OH Dam !!! ) does not help. I do carry a little extra weight around the middle so I’m sure that does not help.
I have a ? for those who use a OWB holster, At what location do you wear yours? I kind of thought most wore it at the 3:00 position ( Talking right hand ) It did seem slightly more comfortable if I moved it slightly back, more around 4:00. It did make accessing it and returning it a little more difficult in this location. The 2:00 position was just as uncomfortable and even harder to access.
I thinking the comfort will get better over time and after it wearing in some.

The extra Magazine holder I order with it was nice as well. Out of the package it held the Mag. really loose, But after adjusting it by turning a simple screw I was able to make it fit as tight as I wanted it to. The mag. for my handgun is a single stack but the holder would work just as well as for a double stack when adjusted.
