upper red lake

I know its a regular topic but im heading up this weekend…… what the ice conditions and hows the fishing?

I was up over the weekend after New Years. I found 10-13″. It’s obviously changed since then, but I was on a snowmobile, so I can’t speak for vehicles. But, I went away from everyone and did very well. It’s just the common theme there. Get away from people, you’ll catch some fish.

I was up there this past weekend and went out of JR’s. The ice looked to be in good condition and was between 12″-15″ where we were fishing.

Fishing slowed down (compared to a couple weeks ago) but we still managed a 3 man limit.

Best luck came on pink buckshot spoons tipped with a minnow head and rattle reels with a #10 glow pink/orange hook.
