Roger’s just posted on FB that they are now allowing foot traffic. They are measuring around 10″ of ice.

I think every where is foot traffic with the exception of Beacon Harbor they are allowing atv’s and utv’s but they now after 4 or 5 inches of heavy snow and the wheeler traffic they have a couple inches of slush on the ice.

Beacon has a foot bridge over a heave that all the wheelers are parked at currently. A green buckshot is turning out to be pretty productive this afternoon. Did better on deadsticks this morning.

Today’s satellite image looks great. But looking at West Winds photos from today shows a big open area.

It’s killing me to see people on the ice catching walleyes.

I wrapped up my deer hunting season last week and I’m sitting here twiddling my thumbs looking at nothing but open water/unsafe skims of ice.

I’ll be heading up that way the day after Thanksgiving. I have no choice.

We walked out of the south side today; early morning was pretty hot, caught pretty much everything we marked on spoons. Got fish sporadically the rest of the day, but turned to a deadstick bite later after noon.

Where do you get your satellite imagery from?

NASA worldview is also pretty good, especially on a desktop computer. It’s the same data, but easier to browse. You can setup side x side views showing different dates of the same area, which can help nail down details easily.

Thanks for sharing the NASA worldview. I didn’t know about that, and it’s way easier to use than modis!
