I made it out for a short hunt this morning.I hunted some plum thickets and there were alot of birds.I picked up a double right away.Dropping one bird dead and the other was not hit very well and was off running.Of course Chy went and picked up the dead bird first. .Anyway she worked the rooster up a creek and finally caught him .The snow is drifting very bad the dogs and I both had a hard time walking. We only hunted about 75 minutes and came back home.Seen lots of birds only though it was a short hunt. Here is a picture of a hen flying.I tried to get a picture of her while she was trying to hide but she was up and flying very quick!

    Great pictures Ryan!
Those ditches are really starting to fill up with snow I bet.
I’m going down around the Grinnell area this weekend and then I think I’m going to switch gears and start thinking more about ice fishing.

    RYAN,

nice picture of the flying hen….Thats tough to get. One time I managed to snap a shot of a bird just as it was hit by the guy shooting at it but most often I end up with a picture with a blur on it or just a landscape picture.

We had a ball out there this past year. We bagged a bunch of birds and had great success on both the public lands and the few secret spots you took us to. I highly reccomend some of the small places we tried in Osceola and Emmett county…MAN were there birds there. That partial albino bird was cool! If you get a good mount I’d love to see a picture of the mount.

Well I got one more week around here before I can go out for birds. I still have one more Saturday to fill a deer tag. Nearly got one on Tuesday (a nice 10 point) but another guy shot it before I cuaght up with it.

Don’t work too hard ryan! talk to you soon.
