OK, maybe this is a dumb question, but I can’t find it in the regulations book.

In Minnesota, it is illegal, per the reg book, to shoot at a big game animal from the road or right of way.

Is it legal to shoot a pheasant in a ditch, from the road or in that ditch, if you are in the “right of way”? I know years back, many people used to road hunt for pheasants, but is that legal today?

I’m not looking for ethical answers, just facts at what Minnesota law states. I can’t find where it doesn’t state you can’t.

As per Minnesota law, you can stand on any road that isn’t an interstate hwy and shoot a bird. (duck, goose, pheasant, grouse, etc.)
For big game, you must be outside the right of way which also includes the ditch.

That’s what I thought, but I didn’t want a CO to tell me wrong.

    Thanks!
