Christmas Roosters

    Had a blast hunting today with my brother Al and my son Zach. We hunted for about an hour and flushed 7 roosters and shot our 2 man limit.

    Love the smile Zach has. Congrats on some late season success. Any particular cover that was better than another?

    Kooty,

    Birds were in thick cover with lots of pine trees. Birds were actually roosted in the trees and were flushing out of them.

    There is nothing better than hunting Christmas morning. It was a family tradition to grouse hunt Chrismas morning and open presents in the afternoon. Times have changed since I have young kids. Some day I hope to bring back that tradition. Most likely it won’t be for 10 years or so.

    I agree Jon. Christmas morning pheasant hunting is my favorite time of year to hunt. It is also my last hunt each year and has always been very special to me.
