My wife and I are currently considering ASPCA insurance. ASPCA
After our pup swallowed a 2″ pin and cost us $800. We are starting to see some value in it.

My friend has two cockers and won’t be without it. I think it covers yearly shots, exams, etc. Don’t know how $$$ it is?

I would recommend it. Today’s pets get into so much stuff and getting them fixed is expensive.

It basically takes a large expense and spreads it out into manageable payments.

We have VPI for our dogs. We spent a couple grand trying to save one of our dogs so we have it on two other dogs. I think it cost us around $350 a dog. I don’t remember exactly what type of coverage it is. It doesn’t cover any pre-existing injuries/illnesses and it doesn’t cover ACL injuries until you have had a policy for a year. Ours does not cover annual exams and shots. That was another option for like another $150.

We had to take one of our dogs in because it wouldn’t stop throwing up. The bill was something like $250 but after the insurance claim it cost us $50. So far it has cost us more for insurance then we have spent, but it is nice having the security there and it helps take the financial question out when it comes deciding to helping the dog/putting the dog down.

Anyone else hitting the Iowa opener this weekend? Our group is heading to the NW for our annual trip.

We expect to get a few. Nothing like the past, but a few. I think the big draw is just hanging out together down there. If the birds don’t bounce back that wont even be enough.

How are they going to bounce back if you keep shooting them?

At least you hit them. Shoot-n-release is my M.O.

It was mainly poor. One field saved our bacon. Ended up taking 11 out of it over the weekend. Lost too many.
