I have a German shorthaired pointer. i would like this to be a long term thing. Let me know if your interested.

Love this idea! Have you released many birds in the past?

We end up releasing a hundred or so a year at Dad’s due to short tail feathers etc… The hawks are darn hard on those birds even with all the great cover we offer them.

I think this is such a great idea!

From my experience, released birds don’t last long in the wild. If I were you, I would keep them in a pen and then release them on the land the same day you plan to hunt. I’m not sure on the laws, but I think you could just bring your birds to public land and release them as well.

I know i could put them on public land but i am not one to hunt public land. and would much rather release them on private. And your right most dont make it. But there are some that do every year have young ones in the spring.
