Myself and possibly a buddy are interested in killing a grouse. I really want to shoot one to mount. I am wondering if anyone would b interested in guiding us for a day next fall to shoot one. We would b willing to negotiate a guiding fee. Would b traveling from NW Iowa so would b interested in trading hunts for a pheasant hunt as we have LOTS and a lot of ground to hunt. If anyone would b interested please PM me. Thanks!

I’d be interested in helping you if you can make it up to northern WI…

And, if Mark can’t coordinate times, I can help.

To be honest…if you want a mounter bird, delay your hunt as long as possible. A December bird is a different looking critter than a fall bird. No dog retrieves, either, if your looking for a mounter IMHO.

Not that a dog-retrieved mid fall bird wouldn’t make a nice mount – but it won’t make the BEST mount……. Just my $.02.

If you put myself and a couple buddies on some good pheasant land in NW Iowa I would put you onto some Grouse.
Heading that way next weekend and hopefully at least one more time this season.
